A carceris gestures at you!
The ground beneath your feet begins to boil violently!
Fiery debris explodes from the ground!
... 25 points of damage!
Strong blow to your left hand!
You are stunned for 2 rounds!
... 25 points of damage!
Flames incinerate scalp completely and blacken skullcap. Not very fashionable.
... 20 points of damage!
Nasty burns to back. Won't be sleeping on that for awhile.
... 20 points of damage!
Nasty burns to right arm. Gonna need lots of butter.
... 10 points of damage!
Burst of flames to neck chars skin. Yuck!
... 30 points of damage!
Flames cook your abdomen. Feels about medium well.

Is it normal for Boil Earth to have that many damage cycles...?

So it's another fucking retarded critter != player spell, like Implosion?

I seriously wish they'd cut that shit out.

I'd hazard a guess that the spells are exactly the same and they just give a them something like 300 earth lore. In some cases, you'd expect something like this (elementals for instance). Not sure how that fits in with a carceris but whatever.

Earth Lore does nothing but affect the % chance of "multiple strikes", while Fire Lore affects the damage of said "multiple strikes". While adjusting creatures Lore to insane numbers is possible, it's not the case here.

More likely, for critter-based Implosions and Boil Earths, there's some sort of inherent level adjustment--which means that even though you may be the same level as the csetairi, the system acts as if you're 10 levels under, or whatever.

It's the only thing I've ever thought of that could explain why the player version sucks so bad like-level, and the creature version pwns.
