awesomecakes.
Added a colleague who was accounts manager before, and that made me tighten up my behaviour strings on FB, so I deleted her and said I shut down FB.
It's not worth it. Not even a friend at work incase they are friends with bosses etc and they can see your posts.
Or friends of friends of friends who are grassing bitches and want any dirt on you they can get for their boss.
Not worth it, ever unless you fucking totally trust them and it's just between yourselves.
OR if you just update your FB daily with ''Needs coffee'' and not ''Fuck ME was I annihilated on pills last night.. Jesus CHRIST you could have fried an egg on my face''.
Depending.

I am a teacher. My students (and worse, their fucking parents) keep trying to add me. No, no, no, no, no. Who the fuck do they think I am?

My mother keeps trying to add me. I accepted a few family friends, she tells me I don't even need to friend her because they spy on me for her. I'm going to have to do a purge, soon.

No, no! Facebook has settings you can put family on a certain privacy level so they can't see certain albums or tagged pictures or even your wall/status's.

My solution: Don't use facebook.
Or you could just not be an idiot on FB...

Exactly, but I still don't want to add my boss because I don't want him to be able to see when I sneak on during work hours.

Ive been hearing since FB came out that you need to be careful what you post, what groups you join, what pics you upload etc for these exact reasons... Apparently some people are just too much fail to figure it out.

I have my boss as a friend on FB but I have the problem that he was actually a friend (outside of FB) before he became my boss. Even so, I definitely cut down on the intensity of my status updates since I accepted his request. I'll have to figure out the privacy settings and see if I can put him into a group that doesn't get my updates.
Well that and in the contracting world, one normally has around 4 bosses, company boss, contractor PM, contractor team lead, and govt lead. In this case I'm referring to my company boss. The other latter three are the ones I'm more concerned about anyway.
You can definately set up filters and select certain people to apply that filter to. That will keep any activity you do on your page from being put on their page as a notification. If they want to see what you're up to, they have to go to your page manually.

It sometimes doesn't matter. I don't usually set status or write on friends walls, but that doesn't stop people from tagging you in pictures when you are piss loaded or from writing obscene things on your wall or commenting on pictures.
It's always best to put people who you don't want to see personal stuff in limited accounts.
Just don't add work colleagues or anyone at all from work, infact.

Wouldn't it be easier to just not bash your job on FB?

Anyone seen what 4chan has been doing to FB accounts recently? Somehow they found a way to hijack accounts, and are ruining people's jobs/relationships/friendships. I couldn't help but laugh at some of it, but I do feel bad for the victims.
Here's one from Digg. The link to all of them is broken, but I'll find it soon.

Well yeah I never did in the first place. But I have been known to put up "woo we've been out til 3 am!" or "needs a chance of scene/wants to move out West" type posts that certain people from work don't need to see. So like I said, I cut down on the 'intensity' of my posts and try to make sure they're work-safe.

It is done by phishing. People who are hacked (usually) clicked something in FB that wasn't a FB link.

Yeah I figured that was what it was. It was a link to a dating site I believe.

You seriously should not let the little things wire you up so much, it just gives other people control over you.

Facebook is neat.
Farmtown is addictive like crack. Or chocolate. Or coach purses.

I have resisted Farmville. I'm so proud. Yet again, those cute little black sheep on my homepage make me wanna play. :(

That's one of the hacked accounts from the 4chan exploits.
