Any help on this would be appreciated. It's probably a retarded question to you guys but I'm new to Vista.

I tried installing it and it gives me a message telling me that it couldn't install and to run it as an administrator. I'm logged in as the admin. So..?

Then I get another message, "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2869."

Tried running it in compatability mode too and it wouldn't install that way either.

Thanks for any help you can give. :)

Turn off and leave off your user account controls. I had to do the same thing when installing with Vista. I never turned mine back on to see if it worked since I live alone and no one touches this computer.

UAC is garbage. If you don't know how to turn it off...

There is almost no sense in it existing.

Not sure if you have visual studio or not (seems doubtful). an instance of devenv running can cause this.

You can try msiexec /i c:\yourinstall.msi from the command prompt.

Turning off the UAC fixed it. Thanks everyone!
