Peta is hilariously fucked up:
PETA to target kids with disturbing "Unhappy Meals"
Activist group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) will hand out "Unhappy Meals" to children at an Albany McDonald's restaurant today to protest alleged chicken abuse, according to a statement this morning by PETA.
PETA alleges that McDonald's allows its chicken suppliers to abuse the animals before they are slaughtered for food. The organization advocates "controlled-atmosphere killing," a method that promotes animal welfare.
Children who buy meals at the McDonald's at 391 Central Ave. today beginning at noon will encounter PETA staff, headed by an activist in a chicken costume.
The "Unhappy Meal" that PETA will give to children - a spoof of a Happy Meal - will include a "menacing, knife-wielding" Ronald McDonald cutout, a ketchup packet disguised as chicken blood, a plastic chicken covered in "blood" and a "McCruelty" t-shirt.
The statement indicates that PETA will target children so they will "join its campaign" to convince McDonald's to change slaughter methods.
You know some of these will end up on Ebay. I'd drag my family down there for our meal if I lived near there.

You know PETA's running short on ideas when they're looking to Dr. Clayton Forrester for inspiration, heh.

Seriously, if I had a kid and bought him a happy meal, and some hippy in a chicken suit handed him this unhappy meal shit, that hippy would have a broken beak.
They can do their retarded protests as much as possible, but don't involve children.

I guess I'm a bad parent then because I'd totally drag my kid there. I want one!

I'd totally go get one if I was near. Who wouldn't want a knife-wielding Ronald McDonald?

It's only a cardboard "Psycho Ronald." This makes me sad.
I wish McDonalds spiced their chicken products a little more, then I'd go and buy crispy chicken sandwich, just to spite PETA.

QFT. They protest at one of the KFCs in our area - and even though I don't particularly like eating there, whenever they are out there protesting, I go in and get something to eat.
Its really the only time I even eat there.
if anyone does manage to get all the goodies, please mail them to me!

I would always fill out their forms for free DVD's at Ozzfest and such with emails like "Ieatmeat@aol.com" or "cowsaredelicious@yahoo.com". One woman actually caught on and my reply was a simple "Cows would eat you if they could!".

Did you see the PETA protest where they were trying to get people to call fish "sea kittens" because no one would eat "sea kittens"?

Are you serious? Fish too? Jesus these people need a serious, serious PR overhaul. I'm all for being nice to animals and such but you have to draw the fucking line somewhere!

PETA is just insane. They advocate euthanasia as a way of population control while refusing to explore no-kill alternatives. Their reasoning is that it's more cost-effective to kill shelter animals than to find homes for them, even though progressive shelters in San Francisco, upstate New York and Long Island have proven the opposite.
I think of them as misinformed, well-meaning idiots who generally do more harm than good. But I'd LOVE one of those McDonald's kits.

I agree. There's an awesome no-kill shelter near where I live and they all hate PETA for exactly that reason. They're hypocrites.
I've had some PETA members tell me that even owning a pet is 'inhumane', and that all animals need to live in the wild without human interference. Yeah, because it's totally humane to abandon your house cat in the wild so it can try to fend for itself only to die of disease, starvation, or horrible death by a predator! They're all idiots.

:yeahthat: They're all for tossing large birds back out in the wild too, where they would promptly be hawk food &/or starve to death.
The only good thing I can think of they've done is harass the fuck out of Petco & Petsmart until they agreed not to sell cockatoo's or other large birds.

..... I am utterly at a loss for what I could say other than:
"God damn, when did man kind get so fucking retarded?"
I can remember when I first realized what I was eating used to be a living animal. It was fried chicken. I guess I remember it because it was something of a shock. It did not stop me however as fried chicken is the yum.
I have no problem with humane treatment of animals and in fact encourage it. American Indians thanked every deer they killed for sustenance. That is a sound and right philosophy.
Not so sure that in your face condemnation is a better approach.

Also, I've used their "create a sea kitten" tool to make my new avatar. His name is Joseph, and he's a sword fish dressed as a lion. And because he pwns so hard, I bought him a wii, a guitar and some sweet shades.
I probably won't be able to go more than a day without eating him, though, so I don't think he'll last long. :-/

According to the book, salmon that escape being caught spend their spare time plotting to kill actual kittens. LOL

I remember holding an awesome SCA barbecue opposite a PETA event. Eight chickens, a whole hog, and a side of beef. It was epic.
I also love asking PETA members whether they know how much devastation to animals that American soybean and corn farming cause.

^That.
Yeah. Coastal farmlands that lack wetlands and other natural run off filters put pesticides straight into the ocean. It's a dinoflagellate orgy in the very oceans we swim in. Algae related bacteria is killing everything or giving it tumors while also affecting people who swim in the sludge to the tune of vision problems, memory problems, sores on the skin that never go away and my favorite, rotting flesh. Parallel studies also suggest cancer.
Anybody wanna go with me to the beach this weekend? :D

I have to thank you for the flash game .... the kids and I have had a blast playing it.
In fact we fired off an e-mail to PETA requesting more, and then shared our dinner menu with them. I'm thinking of a redneckish menu for next week ... maybe a turduckin.

I've seen some of these videos of folks from Butterball and McDeez torturing chickens. What I have to say is this:
Although wrong, the price of hiring U.S. citizens to do one-eighth the work for ten times the pay these McImmigrants make is a larger price to pay than Pedro fingerbanging a chicken before it becomes nyum-nyum-nyummy.
And, as I have repeatedly said and been quoted on these forums as saying, "The cost of blissful ignorance is worth more than the price of burdensome knowledge."
Sincerely (as always),
- Mañuel, Chicken Fingerbanging Torturer Extraordinaire.
