Now I am looking for gift ideas for the little lady. Before you suggest it, I don't want to get her (another) strap on. I want this to be something special just for her. Is there a tradional jewlery piece for getting knocked up? Or, ladies, what gift would make you go awwwwwwwwwwh! when your bff told you she got it from her hubby?

Birth stone pendant.
my dad got one for my mom when they had me. what you do is get the pendant made with your two birthstones and when your kid is born you fill out the 3rd stone with your child's birthstone.
you can order them from most jewelery stores with the 3rd pendant missing and then when the child is born take the pendant back to the jeweler and he will install the 3rd new birthstone.
hope this helps.

That's actually what we did on our first accident. That and I got her an big fat gold emerald ring her favorite color. (damn marine biology lab trip to the Florida Keys)
She lost the ring during the rapid move out but I found it when cleaning up the place for exit in the corner of the closet. Sent it to her and she kept it. Means something to me at least.

do lamaze classes with her. childbirth is disgusting, but she will appreciate your sincere participation. and get her a day spa trip. she will start feeling fat and ugly eventually and you have to be supportive and let her know she is still the one. etc
those are the real answers. The Player Corner answer is to buy her a plane ticket to El Salvador for the "procedure" in a grimy clinic so her parents never find out

we've done verailles, Monmarte. Been to the Louvre 4 times, but still haven't even gotten close to see it all. I like to drink coffee and smoke and people watch, but that can't be done with the tadpole present. She can't drink and I am worried about walking her to death. The boat trip sounds like a good idea. I've never really spent that much time in paris. We have typically driven down south, but again... I am worried about her being uncomfortable in a little french car. She is super excited to go, but I think her feet will hurt and she won't want to buy clothes because she will feel fat. Ah well. Worst case scenario she will have sore feet in Paris.

rented a studio apt in Paris over Christmas. She wanted a babymoon. Taking ideas on fun stuff to do there.
Pack warm. You will freeze your balls off on and around the Eiffel Tower, where the wind can really whip through.
Take a ride along the Seine in one of the tour boats. There are a couple of companies that do it, one I know of is Bateaux Mouches. Avoid the ones with meals, as this jacks up the price to ungodly amounts despite mediocre fare. A regular tour is like 10e/person (compared to a dinner cruise around 70e/person).
If you're not planning on going to Paris again anytime soon, or at least not during the warmer season, you should think of going to Versailles. Although the gardens will be barren, the palace is still beautiful, and there's plenty to see indoors.
Don't know if you're into bicycling (I'm not), but I hear it's a good way to see the city. The Velib bicycle rental system has spots all throughout Paris (like French Zipcar; you'll know it when you see a row of identical gray bicycles with electronic locks), and I understand it's very easy to grab a bike and ride it around. Can't really say anything more about that, though, since I never did it.
Obviously there's the Louvre. Did you know that behind the Mona Lisa there are two beautiful Titians? Despite the crush of people vying for a look at The Ambiguous One, the masterpieces right behind it are left virtually unlooked-at.
One of my personal favorite spots is Montmartre. It's a bit of a climb, although you can puss out and take the funiculaire (part of the Metro system, though separate from it) for easier access. During the day, the main square is a hot spot for artists and portraitists, and many of the shops surrounding it are interesting. It's just a beautiful area, with the Sacre Coeur anchoring it. The view of the city is very nice from that elevation, too. You should get out at the Anvers metro stop to get there. I think it was the Barbes-Rochechouart stop we used, thinking that it was more convenient since we didn't need to transfer. Man, was that a big mistake. That was one grimy-ass neighborhood next door.
One final word of warning: when the doors to the public toilets open for you to leave, GTFO.
EDIT: posted after your responses. Trying to post and work at the same time = fail.
Sacre Coeur Basilica is great. Just get up to the quarter and get your portraits done by one of the many local street artists.

Like beer? MUST visit Cave a Bulles. Really cool english speaking craft beer store. Has some popular belgian stuff. But the French selection is impressive and actually quite good. I highly recommend St Rieul dark. If you really like craft beer, bring an extra HARD CASE suitcase and pack it full of beer for the return trip. He will wrap it in bubble wrap for you and I suggest you wrap each bottle in a t-shirt. The best part is that it is cheap, high quality beer.
Like food?
CALL FOR RESERVATIONS AT SPRING IMMEDIATELY. Without a doubt the best bargain in Paris. He might even have his new restaurant open by the time you get there. The chef and his front-of-house assistant are both American ex-pats and the food is cheap and amazing. That said, it is a very difficult reservation to get. I've spent 4 months in Paris over the last two years and I've only been once. For lunch.
Relais de Comptoir (near Odeon): My wife and I always walked up to this gem. 50% of their seating is "outdoor" seating, so it is hard to get in during the winter. But really worth it if you can bear the wait.
Itineraire: Had my best meal of my life here. It was a veal roast. I am salivating just thinking about it.
Relais d'Entrecote: Very popular "steakhouse" where the only thing you'll need to order is your drink and how you want your steak cooked. Everyone gets a hangar steak cooked to order with very good green peppercorn sauce and crispy fries. Easy to get a table and good value.
Petitte St. Benois: Down the street from the Relais d'Entrecote. Go for dinner. Eat the cassoulet. Best cassoulet in Paris. Bring a healthy appetite.
If you need more recommendations, let me know. But these are my 3 favorite "nice" meals and 2 centrally located "stand-bys". I've got plenty more where they came from -- but these are my top recs.
Cuisine de Bar: Wife just came over and recommended this. It's not my favorite, but it is good. She says it's one of her favorites. I'd recommend it for lunch. There is a lot of good shopping near by, but . . .
Like to shop?
Unfortunately you're going to miss the Soldes (sales). Plus I've never thought the clothes in Paris were anything special. Save your money for eatting. The food in Paris IS special.
Other things to do:
Musee D'orsay - Much more accessable than the Louvre. Plus, from your list, you've not been. Really amazing collection and a cool building to boot.
Napoleon's Opera House (the old one in Bastille): Take a tour. It is gorgeous.
Arenes de Lutece: My all time favorite outdoor haunt in Paris. Old Roman arena in the middle of Paris. Does it get any cooler than that? During the summer there are a lot of kids playing soccer on the arena floor and the surrounding terraces and old men playing Boule (bocce ball).
The boat tour is alright. I did it once, and it was nice. But I wouldn't ever do it again. The boats are all around Pont Neuf and if you go in early afternoon you should be able to get a discount ticket for the evening trip.
As I think of more I'll edit. But this should be a good start.
Just to reiterate -- CALL / E-MAIL SPRING NOW

Sacre Coeur Basilica is great. Just get up to the quarter and get your portraits done by one of the many local street artists.
It is a pretty church and has a great view of the city.
But you need to essentially shove the Nigerians off of you. Don't accept their "friendship" bracelets.

rented a studio apt in Paris over Christmas. She wanted a babymoon. Taking ideas on fun stuff to do there.

Way to go Euler. It's people like you that make the rest of us guys seem like shit bags.
I hope you can sleep at night knowing that you were responsible for some confused guy getting bitched out for something he didn't even do.

Keller, that's what I'm talking about. I have been to the converted train station. Lovely place. I like cezzanne... even though I can't spell him. Spring will be contacted today.

You know your wife reads these boards I'm not sure referring to it as a converted train station is the best route for ensuring you get laid.....just sayin.

spring is closed and no word on when the new restaurant opens. Looks sweet though. Only 16 seats? Nice. Like Chez Penis in Bazerklee.
Anticor, I'm a hoosier now. I don't let my wife read anymore.

That sucks. I knew Daniel Rose was planning on opening a new space, but I thought he would keep Spring open until that space was available.
Itineraire is the next best cheap-eats in Paris, imo.
