You wouldn't wake up this morning. I was terrified. I shook you, put an ice cube to your lips, put a wet washcloth to your forehead and you didn't move. I thought you were dead. I started to panic. It's 6:30 am and the ambulance is here. They can't get you to wake up. They give you a shot and put on an oxygen mask, you stir, but you still won't wake.

They tell me you're going to the hospital as they carry your body down the stairs, lying limp in a blanket.

I get to the hospital and wait. Nobody has said anything. I don't know where you are or how you are.

I wait, and wait.

Mom finally arrives.

We wait and wait.

I'm on my way to you, I turn this corner, then that corner. I see bed after bed lying behind curtains. I finally come to you. You're pale. I don't recognize you under the pile of rubber tubes and hoses that cover your face and chest. They say they're running tests, they don't know what is wrong. They ask so many questions, my head is spinning. I'm afraid.

Something I tried to write last night but I couldn't finish.

I know a lot of people don't believe in saying prayers, but for those who do. If you would please say a prayer for my husband Billy to recover, I would appreciate it.

I woke yesterday morning to find him unresponsive in bed. He is now in the ICU unit of a local hospital listed in critical condition. They know what is not wrong with him, but they've yet to figure out what is wrong.

Any and all prayers are welcome.
