What number of armor traings would Shimm need to wear vultite brigandine with out any (or low as possible ) magic encumberance?

And would it have a better effect than the 6 trains he has now while wearing 6x doubles?

I don't know what the base hinderance for spell casting is in sorcerous circles, but I imagine it's similar to clerics. Clerics have a highest percentage base failure of 7%, in their own circle, when trained down, which takes 30-40 ranks of armor to train off, depending on some stat factors.

wear doubles... my sorc wears doubles at 30 and does well. i figure the extra points are better off going towards more spells which will defend me better than wearing brig.

you need.. 130 armor ranks to wear brig with the base 12% sorcerer hinderence.. or in other words it's impossible. Wear doubles or at the most I'd say leatherbreastplate which takes 20 ranks and has a 5% hinderence

27 for a minimum spirit hindrance of 6%
35 for a minimum elemental hindrance of 7%
110 for a minimum sorcerer hindrance of 11%

Would it have a better effect than doubles?
Yes, you'd take less damage per hit, as well as crit less.

Is it worth it?
Well you need ALOT of training to bring down the sorc hindrance, so I'd say you'd probably die more from fumbling a crucial cast, than surviving a big hit.

Yea.. me too...maybe some exceptionally crit padded ones...

I think you need 8 ranks in armor training to wear doubles at maximum efficiency, which is 2% hinderance.

Its 6 I believe . . .
Now to get my hands on the 40 mil that I have spread around the lands . . . some of it isnt actually mine yet but calculations show Ill have me some nice leathers in about a week. . . ::wink::
