I need to figure out shit to do in Manhattan mainly.
I need the following:
a) A good place to drink regularly.
b) a good place to drink not so regularly.
c) good date restaurants
d) good regular restaurants.
e) good things to do that don't involve eating and drinking.*
f) I actually need a good place to buy suits as well as some regular casual clothes, though my casual is usually a button down of some sort, I don't really rock t-shirts.
g) I need all good takeout places in Chelsea.
h) I need a new gym to fight off all the takeout.
I think that's it for now. A good old bookstore would be nice too, but some things are better when searched for.
*That aren't illegal or involve Rob (and/or gay sex).

If you get a job at a law firm called Brown, Brown, Brown, Brown, and Brown I'll love you forever. That way when someone walks in and asks if you're Mr. Brown you can sue them for racism.

Seriously. Danny Meyer is awesome. I think he runs The Modern (Midtown), which is another fantastic place, and Union Square Cafe (uh... Union Square), which I've not been to, in addition to the more downscale Shake Shack and Blue Smoke. But Gramercy Tavern is one of my favorite restaurants in NY.
For special occasion restaurants, Jean Georges (Midtown) is the best value for your money. We are talking some of the best food on Earth at non-crippling prices, but getting a reservation can be pretty tough. Del Posto (Meatpacking) is a wonder from Mario Batali, but I've only been there during Restaurant Week, and I'm pretty sure I recall the regular prices being pretty jaw-dropping. There are literally dozens of places in the Village that are cozy and quiet and good to take a date, but I'm not too familiar with the neighborhood.

I concur.
Grammercy is very, very good.
A little pricey though. I think Kurio is still my go-to date spot in NYC. Very unknown (until now!), very, very good, and quite personable (the owner (attractive young female) developed the menu and works the whole front of the house by herself -- her parents cook in the kitchen).

There is an incredible place to eat in the village at 12th and 2nd street, called S'Mac. Nothing but gourmet kinds of mac and cheese, with everything imaginable to put in it.

a) Whatever bar is the least amount of steps to your bachelor pad.
b) Whatever bar is furthest to your work.
c) NYC is not about dating. Its about getting laid.
d) There are tons all over the place and most are relatively cheap. I liked the cuban-chinese, greeks and bodegas (delis).
e) Met, MOMA, Gougenhiem... duh.
f) Ask the other suits you work with. Macys is awesome.
g) Didn’t get around that area much. Google it.
h) Just walk everywhere.
Congrats. Living in NYC at your age and income is going to be one hell of a party.

Fuck you Back, no one wants your pseudo-hippie free love bullshit. NYC is full of normal people as well, not all of them are raging douchebags like you and Rob.

Oh, almost forgot, High Line Park has been getting rave reviews. It's on the west side, and the first phase is open with an entrance at Gansevoort St. Problem is, there is a line to get in on the weekends because capacity is low and demand is high. Recommended for a weekday.
Obviously Central Park is there in the middle of it all, but large stretches of Riverside Park are also really nice. The Met is awesome and free, if you can stand the shame of not giving them anything, even though they have a "suggested donation."
Good place to drink not so regularly is the Rare View Rooftop Bar, on the east side in or near Murray Hill. The elevator is slow as shit, so it can be forever to get to the top, but the view is great, and there are canopied bed-like couches to relax on. Prices aren't that terrible, but it's a not-so-regular because even though the cocktails are good, the view is great, and there's often some pretty good talent up there, the beer selection gets a D.
Macy's is okay for starter suits, but you'll need a good tailor regardless of where you go if you're buying off the rack. You can get good casual/business-casual stuff at Filene's Basement and Loehmann's. The discount places are obviously hit or miss, but the prices are great. At least worth a stop to check out the wares, since you can really walk away with some steals. Eventually you should graduate to Saks, as this is very prestigious (not as much as hiring a personal shopper at some of the downtown or Madison Ave. boutiques, but I will wait to advise on those particulars until the "Must spend $1 million by the end of the week for tax purposes" thread).
Shaft's Peter Luger's suggestion is, of course, right on the money, but doesn't fit into any of your categories. You won't want to take a date to a place where you're bound to get the meat sweats, and it's too pricey to be a regular, but there's a reason they're the best steakhouse in the city 25 years running, and their bacon will make you rethink the very concept of bacon. It's a must-go, but remember to bring gangster-size stacks, because they don't take credit cards.

As far as suits go I still enjoy the Men's Warehouse. I might be biased because I worked there in highschool but our tailor was the shit. She's retired now but she still does my stuff when I call her.

Not a rumor. He can also party his ass off. Great company to work for just wish I wasn't scared to do comission based income with the wife and kids to support. If I was single I'd be back there in a second, the money can be great.
LOL, two sources. Can’t beat that.
I hear you on both accounts.
The only suits I ever needed in NYC I bought at Men’s. There are places to go for sales though. One dude I used to know on Wall St. told me about them. You have to be in with the suit crowd to get the low down.
