Since I can't peek at GS's home page anymore to see how few people are playing GS these days. How about keeping a running tab here instead. Every couple of hours someone peek at the no IG and post em up if you would.

Celephais made a graph in that thread, but I think his server is down.

They shut down the "web service" they were running that let you see how many people were playing (curiously shortly after I wrote an app that would gather that info once every 5 minutes and make a continuously updating graph of the data). I'm considering (once I get my server plugged in again), making a program that just logs in game and does the same, but then they'd probably turn off the status command.

I just returned to the lands from a LONG hiatus (about 2-3 years) and have noticed a huge decline in the amount of players logged in. It's great to see the game still up and running though. Plus, the decreased player base is a little refreshing. Screen scroll in town is no longer as much of a problem, and the player base does seem more loyal and closeknit now. I like seeing the same people around town daily. It feels more like a community. :) I'm sure everyone has their different opinions on that, but it's still just as fun to me. Oh, and darn Simutronics for taking away the player count. I used to like seeing how many people are in game at various time of the day.
