I use to go three times a week or so, I paid for most of my first college playing blackjack. Then I found out what the other side of the pillow feels like and I haven't been back in a few years =).
I use to play 50 dollars a day max.

Once every couple of years when we vacation in Vegas. Local casinos hold no appeal.

1x a month to Moheghan Sun in CT.
2x a year to Vegas.

My hubby and I go every year on our anniversary. It's become tradition. We both take 20 bucks and head out. It varies every year but either one or both of us usually win something large. One year we had a total winnings of 900 bucks. The least amount we came out with was 200. We can totally rock a roulette wheel.

Heh. Went to Vegas once. Enjoyed it, especially watching the slots whirl around and around... That was about 20 years ago.
But soon after I found out my mom had a real gambling problem, she ended up having to do the GA 12-step, but only after losing an unbelieveable amount of money. Took all enjoyment out of it for me. I play casino games on my PC, but never gamble. (Well, except for the $1 a week I put on the Lotto :duh: )

when i was living in DC i used to supplement my budget with poker--weekend trips to AC twice a month. Did that for about 2 years or so before moving up to NY, and I think I can count on one hand the number of times I've been back since.
That being said, I'll be down in AC in two weeks. Ha!
We go to Foxwoods in CT usually twice a year (around my birthday/Christmas and then one time randomly), and we've started going to AC every other month or so. Only been to Vegas once but we're considering joint bachelor/bachelorette parties there, so that may be changing!

kookiegod

Oh for sure, I go with 200 and it lasts me a day, and when I get up past the 100, i sack that stake away again and just play with the casinos money and drink their free booze.
If tragedy happens, which rarely happens, and I lose the stake, I'm done for that day, i don't go hit the ATM to keep going.
Set a limit and stick to it.

I live in Vegas
I haven't been inside a casino for... about 2 months or so (and that was just to eat dinner with my Vegas Z car club after a meeting). I've probably spent... maybe 30 dollars in my life gambling. And I've only gambled three times in my life. Once around my 21st birthday while waiting for an oil change... And twice around my wedding; while waiting to pick up one of the wedding party and at my bachelor party. - thought of another time, getting drunk with my buddy at a bar, spent another 10 bucks on a bar slot.
I just don't really see the point in gambling. While I can see the poker tables, as you just sort of pay the casino to win/lose money from other people based on your skill, All the other games are so stacked in the favor of the house, what's the point?
The longer you gamble, statistically, the closer to the odds you get.
I'd rather throw quarters away in an arcade.
I generally go to AC at least once a month, will go with $100 and that normally lasts me an entire day of eating/drinking/playing the tables.
I wish. I goto AC like once or twice a year.

I been to Foxwoods. I guess it depends on what sort of poker you're playing. The only thing about Turning Stone that isn't great is they aren't state regulated, so odds are usually worse when it comes to slots.

I used to go to the casino about once a month or so when I lived close to one, but I haven't been at all in some years now. I would mostly play Blackjack, though I would always devote $20 towards the slot machine with the highest jackpot. Biggest winnings at the slots was $200, biggest winnings at the card table was $750.

I usually to go three or four times a year. one of them being a trip to vegas. Usually stick with blackjack, baccarat, and craps. Love them dice. Always starts with that then works down to the other two after I've played through a few hundred. Recently though my gf's got me playing slots. >.< I hate those things...
As for my starting no's on tables.
Craps, usually 50-100 on the table at any given time
Blackjack, stick to 10-25 bets
Baccarat, what ever I'm in the mood for or have left over

I do alright on the blackjack tables, won't touch a table that uses more then three decks per shoe. Aside that I usually do alright, can't remember the last time I didn't walk away from a bj table with more if not at least the same amount of money I walked up to it with and a buz. Yes, the greatest reason to spend time on a BJ table, easy game and Tons of FREE drinks :D Craps is a very easy game to loose your shirt on if you don't watch what your doing. Hence not the best game for drinking. At least for me. Baccarat is another excellent table to chill at play a little, people watch, and drink.

I had never spent much time in casinos, until my grandfather brought me to Vegas for my 25th birthday. He was determined to teach me how to play craps, so he put down a $22 bet for me and told me that if it won anything, I could play with the winnings. Three days later, I flew home with $1,000 in my pocket from that $22. Every time I walked up to the table, I won more money. It was great.
A couple weeks later, I went down to Foxwoods. I brought $300, and went to the craps table. Two hours later I was on my way home, broke. Now I'll go once or twice a year, bring $300 - $500 and a license, and leave the rest of my wallet at home. I brought the wallet once, and learned the hard way that I'm horrible at telling myself no when it comes to gambling. After that, I stopped leaving myself choices. I usually don't win much, but I have fun.

out of curiosity how were/are you sitting on comp points at that casino Bhuryn?
The Indian casinos in Minnesota tend to be a little more touchy about comps then AC and Vegas casinos. I got a free meal when I wanted at the buffet. I probably could have gotten show tickets or a hotel room if I wanted, but I never bothered to ask. When I went there they didn't have the blackjack club cards you swiped to get your comp points, only for slots. They had a blackjack club that got free shit, but it was mainly for the deadmoney players that dropped thousands on the 100 dollar+/hand tables. That wasn't me =). There isn't any alcohol at that casino which is actually the reason I went there.
If I wanted to have fun at a casino I'd go somewhere else that had alcohol, and I wouldn't play blackjack. I really prefer the 'underground', if you can call them that poker games, for entertainment though. There are always some interesting characters at those games and the booze isn't water down =).

If you're looking for upscale, this is absolutely true. There's really no other reason to go, although I really REALLY like the poker room at the Trop. Plus, it's a short walk to Irish Bar. And I'm pretty sure this is the only place you can find actual Irish dudes dressed as leprechauns passed out at 8pm.

Just got back from Mohegan Sun this morning. That place is awesome. I probably go twice a year. I have friends that go up several times a week. Some people are nuts like that.

Foxwoods sucks by comparison. And what do you mean "most people"? Like that stops anyone from going to Vegas? Atlantic City is a pit.
Foxwoods does suck. It's purposely built to make it confusing to find your way around. Too many damn old people (no offense). I'm 27 and get followed around by security and get the "I bet he's not 21!" stare. And they serve the most watered-down drinks ever. The hold 'em room is the only reason to go. Plus the new MGM SUCKS.
I'm lucky with Mohegan's though. HIGH ROLLER CARD BABY (not mine) . Access to the FREE high roller lounge. Free drinks with top shelf stuff, free food. Comped rooms, and free concert tickets in the best seats available. I end up not even gambling most of time.

Well the card's being dropped a level because he only played $80,000 this year. :(. The lounge and drinks will still be free though. I guess I can deal.
