Anyone recommend a program to rip dvd's with? I'd like to copy some of ours & send to dh in Afghanistan but so far I haven't found one that didn't look like it would come with a clusterfuck of malware.

With the way shit turns up missing from their rooms there's no way I'm sending an original to him just for some asshat to walk off with it.

Most of the free, good ones aren't available anymore in their full former glory unfortunately. DVD shrink and DVD decryptor together is probably the easiest way to rip DVDs.

I would suggest you head to www.afterdawn.com though, they're the experts.

There are a lot of things that can go wrong, especially if you're going outside of a region. It's best if you can use a computer as opposed to a DVD player, and at that point you can just duplicate the DVD as an ISO. I'm not sure if MagicISO can do this but DVD Decrypter is good times.

I had cracked AnyDVD & CloneDVD for so long that I decided it was time to pay up. I actually paid for both. The only software I've purchased in 10 years.

Well worth the money. The only DvDs you might run into trouble with are Disney ones. But it's rare. Paying for Slysoft, you get updates.

Ya, I was sick of having to get new codes every freaking update.

It is very rare they can't crack something. They're very well known for it too, they were the first to crack the BluRay copyright protection. Most of the movies it wouldn't crack I just had to wait a day or two and an update would come out that cracked it fine.

Yeah, my experience as well.

DVD Decrypter is good. I just wish everyone could be on the same page with some generic ISO player ... Which I'm not even sure exists. I really want to DL some movies. I've only shared so far.

I remember disliking Slysoft because it couldn't crack all the shit that DVDShrink/DVD Decrypter could but this was a long time ago. I haven't used a DVD in a couple years so I imagine things have changed.

If you pay for the copy, they give you updates. It has been a solid product. But yeah, the software you mentioned has been up there as well.

If you want something that works on everything you need version 3 of dvd shrink, dvd decryptor and a copy of ripitforme (removes every type of security/region info from dvds).

Pretty much any software will work on most dvds though.
