I've just come back from a 6 years absence and I've trained twice since coming back and both times I noticed i didnt get any physical TP's but i did get a ton of mental TP's. are my PTP's being converted to MTP's? if so is this the norm now or am i missing out on training points somehow?

I believe if you've already trained a few times and have been converting, that your PTP's convert to MTP. You are still getting the same amount of TP

They re-designed how training is done.

Short version.. don't worry, you're getting all your TP's and this method is actually more efficient than the old method you're used to.

Long version..

Say at level 0 you have 40 PTP's and 50 MTP's. You train in skills that end up using 45 PTP's and 40 MTP's. What happens is that those 10 extra MTP's convert 2:1 into 5 PTP's. So at the end of level 0, you have 0/0 remaining. This is what you're used to.

What happens is when you reach level 1 you've accumulated another 40 PTP's and 50 MTP's but the system adds that to what you had the prior level and so instead of saying "you have 40/50 to work with" it says "you have 80 PTP's and 100 MTP's". Then it takes your overall training and subtracts that from the 80/100.

At level 50, 1x'ing a skill, the game goes "how much does it cost for 52 ranks of X skill" and not 1 rank.

Now, the reason this is a more efficient process is because...

What if at level 0 you 3x a 1/1 skill, then continue to 2x it after that, then eventually 1x it.

3, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1 = 11 ranks at level 5 for a total cost of 17/17

Now compare that to...

2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 1 = 11 ranks at level 5 for a total cost of 16/16

Not so major a difference.. but imagine if you were level 100? To resolve this, instead of just going level by level and keeping track, it was decided to just make a massive pool of TP's and subtract your overall training from that pool.

So basically, every time you gain a level, the game is recalculating and redistributing your total TP's. The mountain of MTP's is the leftover from that total. The system converts only once your PTP's/MTP's reach 0.
