Making a Wizard

I have decided it is time to put down the blade and pick up the skill of casting Elemental magic (fire to be exact). And I am wondering what skills I should train in and what to do every level. Here is my stats so far:

CON 40
DEX 90
AGL 50
DIS 70
AUR 90
LOG 90
INT 50
WIS 80
INF 50

Any info regarding Wizard training would be appreciated. (P.S. I am going for a high damage dealer, as I stated above, using fire magic)

Oh yeah, forgot to mention im a Burghal Gnome for their bonuses to Aura and Logic (and they're short! everyone loves a mad midget haha) Im also not training in shields cuzz i heard that if ya dont you can use your rune staff to block.

Well you mentioned a profession but neglected to state a race.

Basic mage training:
4 ranks of Armor Use eventually for Full Leahters (More if you go to a higher AsG)
PF until full HP ~20-30 ranks
1x AS
1x MIU
2x Spell Aiming
1x to 2x HP
1x EMC or 24 ranks for full share or 30 for the cut off
1x E-Lore, won't do much until you get higher level anyway, you can skimp this until higher levels for more spell ranks
Perception/Climb/Swim ~24 ranks eventually
2x to 3x spells

Good luck holding more than a few wands, champ. Your stats are great short-term, but I'd shoot myself in the face around level 50 or so.

Why do you say that, Stunseed?

Even a born and bred power hunter takes a year or two to hit cap. One in every few hundred characters actually makes it there. Why torture yourself?

Stats need work. DEX is way too high. It grows fast and plus wizards are not lacking in bolt AS. DEX is a nice stat to set low and grow into.

STR and CON need to be higher. Not because you want to swing but to deal with encumberance. Being encumbered hurts you against maneuvers and at later levels maneuvers are one of your deadliest enemies. EDIT: And like Stunseed alluded to, with that low of STR and CON you won't even be able to pick up the boxes you find hunting.

You could probably shave almost 10 points off of Aura and a few off of Logic as well.

You still should lose more DEX to get more STR. Your STR stat will grow almost nowhere from where you put it. Google "xygon stat cruncher" or get the Tsoran spreadsheets to see how fast the stats grow for what races.

Your CON will barely grow at all but your race has a good CON bonus so maybe you could go back 10 or so on that. 40 seemed too low though.

According to the stat cruncher I would get 1 con every 4 levels and 1 str every 5

Also I decided I didnt want to be short or any of that stuff so i decided I'd go human

Would you recomend getting 24 ranks of Air elemental lore for being able to bolt hand of Tonis and the -1 sec for haste? Then hold off on lores till about 30? Of course with the new Elemental Lore release things could all change.

100 str, 100 dex, 100 agi.

Learn to use two handed weapons.

Level as much as you can.

Once you hit your 30 days switch the plan you want to use.

Also don't forget to keep your experience bucket stat high during those 30 days.
