Tough to get now that some high level rogues are hunting in 8-10x robes.

I've been a gone a while... might I ask why?

Between 3x Dodge and the new Armor Use benefits provided to rogues, they can raise their DS to the point where it is relatively safe to do so, along with the fact that they outright dodge the overwhelming majority of the blows thrown their way. They will also be insanely skilled at dodging maneuver attacks due to no armor penalties. If they are casting rogues, they will be able to hunt with 0 hindrance, furthering their ability to keep monsters pinned with E-wave, etc, etc

Is it the norm? Not by any means. Are there more than a few rogues giving ultra light armor/robes a try? Ayep. I will leave it up to them to go into greater detail, though.

Rank 3 Evasion Mastery + robes = 27% chance to dodge, on top of any dodging chance based on training.

You forgot other factors as well, and Armor Evasion...Guess I'll be enchanting some then and working on them with PPs

3x dodge gives 15% chance to dodge, so 42% chance total to dodge and 58% chance to get pwned.

How are you going to get Pwned? 8x+ robes will make up for the loss of AvD. It might be the CvA that gets you, I guess.

It might balance out the AvD, but I don't think it will do much for the stun you'll receive if you get nailed wearing robes...

Yeah. You definitely have to be the type that rarely, if ever gets hit by anything when they hunt. Which is certainly possible. Gemstone isn't hard by any stretch of the imagination.

I guess if you can get your offensive DS high enough so you can't be touched by physical attacks it would be viable, but ultimately the way you will die is from being bound or webbed or something like that in which case you have a much better chance of survival in plate.

You can say that the robe-wearing rogue will kill everything instantly and never get caught in the open etc. but then the plate-wearing rogue can do that too and also survive when things go haywire.

Can't cast in plate, but ultimately, yes. Plate wearing rogues are the way to go IMO.

I haven't tested it out beyond the Bowels yet, but I find I can kill pretty effectively in forward or neutral stance with sufficient DS pushdown from the ambush. I imagine that would be fairly useful for the robe-rogue to milk whatever extra DS is necessary to avoid getting hit when AS/DS rolls finally do come into the picture.

But yeah, I like to survive when I do get hit. I'll stick with plate for now.
