I started this thread because how thrilled/pissed I am at the Blackhawks.
Happy about Hossa, Madden, and Kopecky certainly as long as the re-signing of Dave Bolland.
Terrible is losing Marty Havlat and Khabibulin. I cannot wait for the season to begin.
Gib, I see the Pens grabbed Guerin. Wise move on their behalf. Who else is excited for what if at all?

I just read this on examiner.com
To counteract the salary cap hit of Hossa, the Blackhawks have been reportedly in negotiations to trade Cristobal Huet to Edmonton, and are in contract negotiations with Nikolai Khabibulin for a short term deal that would bring him back to Chicago to start over Antti Niemi.
Khabi is a starter that gets injured for weeks, months at a time. Niemi as backup? He's an AHL player. If he actually gets play time it's even money Corey Crawford takes over the net eventually.
If the Blackhawks are looking to Niemi to play potentially more than half of the games for Chicago, THEN take Khabi deep into the playoffs...Disaster.

Yeah the goalie situation is a bummer altogether. Even when he is healthy Khabi has his ups and downs. However I'm very confident that our offense just took a good leap forward. This season can't come soon enough!!

Nikolai Khabibulin is the latest big name off the board in free agency, as the veteran netminder has signed a four-year, $15 million contract with the Edmonton Oilers.
So no Khabi.
and no Marty.
"We were just unable to get a deal done with Marty," general manager Dale Tallon said. "It was 11:01 and we decided to go in a different direction. The important thing we're doing is to keep the core together. So this deal was important to get done at this term to help us in the future solidify that core group. ... I wish Marty and Nik all the best. We're turning the page and moving forward."
