Keep Getting Errors

Anytime I try to change my avatar (via linking a photo, not uploading from HD) or do a search or anything I get crap like this:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /home/gsplayer/public_html/forum/search.php on line 923

Advanced search seems to be working fine though.

Been doing it for a couple months now.

heh, sorry you're having problems. I know the search engine for the site was jacked up for a while too. I never tried to change my avatar, but I imagine it is buggy as well. What browser are you using?

Firefox but it does it on IE too.

How many posts do you display per page? Some people said they were getting these errors when the number was too high. Try reducing the # posts per page (I know it seems unrelated but.. give it a shot)

Yeah. IE here too. Sounds like a bug in the PHP software the forums use. Definitely in the right folder.

Does anyone but Kranar tinker with these boards in terms of mods installed and what not?

Default 10 per page.

Yea.. I've tried to change my avatar a couple of times now to something new... and get the same error.

I also get an timeout error when I try to link a news story in the quick reply box.. but it works perfectly fine if I just use the regular posting screen.

Yeah I haven't been able to link avatars in forever. I had to upload. Real pain in the ass since linking doesn't force you to resize.

I've changed my avatar twice since i came back. I had to clear my internet of all the porn cookies first though. So yeah, Internet options, delete all temp files. Presto.
