Maelstrom Bay puzzles

Anyone tell me how to get past the the ghostly trees and the spectral mist in the bay? want to try both of those hunting grounds out.

As for the spectral mists, after you enter you can pass through it by going north east.

to get back out, I usually go south west two or three times, then go north west twice. That always does the trick.

not so sure about the ghostly trees other than if I keep going se/sw I usually come out after a while.
