I was in the car with a friend when I worked at SoundAdvice and he had one of the new Microsoft systems installed. One of the functions was you could press a button on the steering wheel and say a theme, and the processor would search and play any music you had in that theme.

We were going back to his house and suddenly a kid darted out in the middle of the road after a bouncing ball. He slammed on his brakes and braced for dear life to avoid the child. He did, but when he was done he yelled out "Fucking Kids!", and his hand was on the wheel and "Beat It." came on.

The American system is great in some ways and sucks in others. Similar to ours. We do at least convict famous people of child abuse (Gary Glitter, Jonathan King, Pete Townsend etc.)

MJ was and always will be awesome. He got rich, and people decided to take advantage of that. What if he really did just love children? If a woman paid that much attention to children even after becoming famous, she'd be considered the most kind-hearted person ever.

No one will ever know what actually happened in those cases, but I believe this: If a prosecutor didn't go forward with a case against MJ, it's because the evidence wasn't there, because a prosecutor prosecuting MJ would have any job he wanted for the rest of his life, no mother is so ignorant to leave her kid at MJ's house for a "sleepover" without some mal intent, and people settle lawsuits for things they never did because the negative publicity is more fiduciarily harmful than the cost of the settlement.

All I know is that Africa and Asia is littered with orphanages that Michael Jackson founded to take care of abandoned children - the third world isn't fanatically dedicated to him for nothing.
