For a young warrior, is it worth it to train in first aid and survival if A) you're in Sunfist (and can eat herbs quickly) and B) you don't give a damn about skinning?
Even though it's cheap, is there a real reason to train in FA and Survival? Is there another reason to train in first aid or survival outside of tending, eating herbs faster, and skinning that I don't know about?

Can't answer the warrior part, sorry. My warriors have sucked. Hard.
BUT I do know some uses of FA and survival.
FA: ok well not really, other than what you listed. But I like 40 ranks of FA for tending other people.
Survival: lets you survive out in the cold a bit longer, AND not slip on ice. So good if you run up there. As for manuevers based on this, I really hope not.

Doh, It's that Physical Training that helps you eat herbs faster. I knew I was forgetting something. And some manuevers are based on that. And also 130 sickness recovery times.

Roundtime Reduction in the Use of Herbs
Eating various herbs takes roundtime, and is reduced by training in first aid at a rate of -1 roundtime per 20 skill bonus, rounded up. Thus, two ranks of first aid (which imparts a skill bonus of 10) provides the first -1 roundtime reduction, where 50 ranks of first aid translate into a -8 roundtime reduction (at 150 skill).

As a master of sunfist myself, and a warrior as well - I 1x in both FA and Survival. However, you sound like you don't need it.
First aid helps you tend wounds, and helps you eat herbs with shorter RTs. Since you're sunfist, eating herbs is never a problem, but tending wounds can be useful on occasion. Me personally though, I just use my healdown script to eat herbs and heal bleeders in less time than it would take to tend them.
I like the extra 10-20k a hunt skinning brings me. I also like that survival mitigates lots of environmental effects, and I hunt in Pinefar where the cold wind flares can give you bleeders in 30 seconds. Fortunately, with 1x in survival, I haven't been impacted by those random flares for a looooong time.
Survival also helps me complete my foraging tasks with ease.
If you are never skinning, hiring people to do your foraging for you, and hunt in zones that have no need of survival, then you can skip them both.
I have considered removing points in both, but everytime I think about how much money I get from seeker eyes and mammoth tusks, I leave the points where they are. Skinning is just an easy cash source, especially when a lot of level ranges have no loot on critters, and only skins.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Survival also helped with things like quake. I 1x and have noticed over the years that I generally don't fall down when others do (as much) when quakes happen.

This could be true. Might also help when those damn giants in grimswarm camps stomp the ground. I notice my warrior resists that knockdown the majority of the time, but my sorcerer with no survival falls down 100% of the time.

Aren't stomps PF?
If you're not going to skin you're wasting those points.

Probably, but you never know. Since survival specifically says it helps with "avoiding some natural hazards", my guess is that things like call wind, possibly some clouds (though dodge probably helps with some of that stuff) the annoying volcano explosions in Teras, the cutting wind in Pinefar, walking through swamps in RR, and maybe even insect swarms or such.
With Redux in play, it's hard to figure out exactly what natural effects survival helps with. Maybe a pure with lots of survival can comment on whether they have had experience where redux wasn't a factor, but they took less damage than others nearby from "natural" effects, which could possibly be attributed to survival.

I wouldn't be suprised if PF was involved in all of those as well. I know that on the glacier if I'm helping my friends wizard, she takes damage from the cold looooooooong before I do and I have no survival, just 2x PF.
