What's the difference between new style and old and how do you tell them apart, just curious because I use only use claids, but I just use a regular "claidhmore" right now

Old-style are greatswords, and have a -10 AS. New-style are their own base and have a -10 AvD.

Old style also has a better df against plate. Outside of that, I personally as a warrior like old style better because you can wspec in just one thing for the claid and blessable.

just curious why ora claidh's sell for so much more than faenor....I know it +10 vs +8, but is that really a 4m difference?
