Hows everyone enjoying it? I'm level 7 so I can't do much, but its fun to watch and chat about. Had the Baron on the amunet so that was funny. Heard some crazy stuff.

Some people want to join him. Heard some other fools claiming they and their freinds will leave the lands over this. Thinking it right out on the amunet like that. Crazy. Isn't this a fantasy game where these kinds of things are understood to happen? I say leave already numbnuts. Quit spoiling others fun.

so much fun, when you die 5 times and decay 3 times... you sure enjoy the game and are willing to pay 30 bucks per month

I hate those kind of quest... it's only for a part of people.
Wanna quest crap like that? do it on teras, everyone's legend there

I love the invasion and my character in Landing at the moment is a mere Level 2.
It's a blast stalking about wanting to help but can't. Secretly wondering if she should join the jants. Watching to see who the looters are.

This is the stuff I pay the 12.95 for. Why make it easy? Sure you can't kill all the Jants in town and die a heck of alot. Sign me up. Some action to dispell the mind-numbing....hunt kill....rest..try to find someone to roleplay with through all the LOL's, redux's and babble.

The Invasion, frustrating as it is for some, gets my two thumbs up.

I like the invasion and occupation of town thusfar. I just got home so I don't know if anything's happened today to relieve the situation, but I hope Simu doesn't give in to the minions of Disneyfication and end the event in a rushed manner.

My empath spent a lot of time healing this morning/afternoon in Landing...But I had all I could take of 50 lines of herbs/78 people in a room screen scroll. Moved my crew to Solhaven.

The tower thing really rocks. You don't even have to be an archer, just go into it and start shooting.

Except for the idiots that are intent on abusing the tower, anyway.

I hate sitting around and raising people so I figured I'd better fight, or something. Gives me something to do. Carnage is good.

If this is the fastest way to get rid of that fucking crystal, I'm all for it.

Betheny
07-21-2003, 02:32 AM
It isn't... they can't take the tower out of town, they tried, and insisted on wasting time and continuing to sit there and try.

Besides, wtf is a roving archery tower going to do against the Mandis crystal?

07-21-2003, 03:14 AM
I didn't mean the tower...

I mean that the town being taken over will eventually lead to the crystal being destroyed. They invade, we defeat the invaders and destroy the crystal, and there was much rejoycing...

Bobmuhthol
07-21-2003, 03:16 AM
Yes, we will rejoice. The only problem is that it's going to take another month of dealing with the Jants to find the shard and forge the Bane Weapon.

Betheny
07-21-2003, 03:20 AM
I got your bane weapon right here.

Bobmuhthol
07-21-2003, 03:21 AM
What the hell does that mean?

Betheny
07-21-2003, 03:24 AM
It means I'm holding your bane weapon hostage, and I'll sell it to you for market value -- even though it's yours, man, I gotta do it. Opportunnity knocks, yanno? like... it's my right.

Bobmuhthol
07-21-2003, 03:25 AM
I have no Bane Weapon! Get out of my head!

Betheny
07-21-2003, 03:31 AM
You're right, you used to have a bane weapon, but it's mine now.

Precioussss.

You hear the ghostly voice of Joxter say, "man-at-arms, swinging at 375 AS"

invasion are reasons to more OOC stuff... invasion and the black net is swarming with:
what's their as, mc attacks bla bla bla?

invasion sux, sux terribly

they should programs invanding monsters such as the jants to IGNORE people 40-50 levels under them... As if they're killing everyone in town (npc talking) so why a level 3 empath represents a threat to them, because he's a player's character?

I have 0 deed since they are there, i cannot do crap, so i don't play, i can't play.
Stupid invasion

Invasions and quests are the only reason Gemstone 3 (and soon to be 4) OWN. If you get all pissy and whiny in-game because of a saga then you suck masterfully. I don't care what 'level' or 'train' you are. Go find a game with a reset button and suck to your heart's content.

there's area much more high level requested that are boring.
Quest there
Quest where people knows the game and got the level to ENJOY it.

You see Liacahemis.
He appears to be a Human from Jantalar.
He appears to be very young and very tall. He has piercing jade green eyes and tanned skin. He has chin length, shiny dark brown hair streaked with silver. He has a delicate face, a straight nose and a small mustache.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a polished black steel broadsword in his right hand and a dented steel shield in his left hand.
He is wearing some light leather, and a crystal amulet.

Liacahemis darkly says, "but i know most, guarding the crystal, swing 700+"

Liacahemis darkly says, "the Barron swings 954"

This is an NPC? No wonder everyone goes OOC when they see NPCs like this around.

I seriously doubt that's an NPC, I think that's a player character that happened to pick up some Jant soldier gear.

No NPC would do that, and if they did they should get yanked.

Bobmuhthol
07-21-2003, 04:49 PM
Jants don't wear light leather. Or crystal amulets.

Betheny
07-21-2003, 04:59 PM
The broadsword and the shield are the same as the ones Jant soldiers carry, though.

Bobmuhthol
07-21-2003, 05:01 PM
Yes, it's very easy to pick up a Jantalarian weapon and shield. There are hundreds of them in town. But no Jant wears a crystal amulet. Or light leather.

Betheny
07-21-2003, 05:12 PM
I hear that now, if you don't attack them, they won't attack you. But if you DO attack them, some nasty Jantalarian sentries will own you. I haven't tested this theory, nor am I going to test this theory.

Bobmuhthol
07-21-2003, 05:17 PM
That theory is correct. Hit one Jant, every Jant owns you. Leave them alone, they leave you alone.

Bobmuhthol
07-21-2003, 05:23 PM
Uhm.. go into town. You don't get hit unless you attack them first. It's recent.

Edaarin
07-21-2003, 05:44 PM
Yep, it's true. I can't walk into town without being shot by a sniper arrow, and those things cause rank 5+ injuries. And the sentries aren't exactly cake either.

Betheny
07-21-2003, 06:48 PM
Have the shops and the bank opened up yet? I see no reason to go into town unless they have.. the caravansary isn't really that far. They've got a working bank and gemshop and all of that down there. The bank's an extension of the Wehnimer's bank.

Bobmuhthol
07-21-2003, 06:51 PM
No, they haven't opened.

Edaarin
07-21-2003, 06:55 PM
Hearthstone Manor = bank and gemshop.

Betheny
07-21-2003, 06:57 PM
I guess I should hang out in Hearthstone more. I've been going to the caravansary for gemshop and bank...

Betheny
07-22-2003, 06:56 PM
Just a little FYI --

I found I can ring anywhere in the Landing outside the crystal's field from one north and one west of the caravansary's gate, with no Mandis Crystal anywhere in sight.

There's a gemshop, furrier, pawnshop, bank branch, and an herbalist here, as well as a few healers and clerics and locksmiths that hang out here.

Bobmuhthol
07-22-2003, 06:58 PM
Or you can just walk like everyone else.

Betheny
07-24-2003, 03:42 AM
Well, tonight, at whatever time, the Hendorian and Vornavarian armies showed up.

Neat spectacle, watching the Jants get their collective asses handed to them.

Wow, being actively engaged once attacking a semi-npc is a terrific RP aspect to the game. I hope though that the responses arent automaticly damaging, such as the sniper, however.

Betheny
07-24-2003, 04:31 PM
They did this in Ta'Illstim with the ah... elven armies. If you didn't attack them, they wouldn't attack you. But if you did a lot of damage on them, this nasty elven commander would show up a few moments later and splatter your brains all over.

Taernath
07-25-2003, 06:37 PM
Why did Vornavis and Hendor get involved? I thought they were remaining neutral in the conflict.

Bobmuhthol
07-25-2003, 06:38 PM
The Vornavians ordered the Jantalarians to depart from the Landing. They attacked because the orders were not carried out.

Actually, Emporer Aurmont ordered Hochstib to return the mandis crystals to him untainted (Hochstib acquired them from the previous Empress). This order came down before the Jants had actually taken the landing. Hochstib shrugged the order off, hence the appearance of the Hendorians (Jovery's men) and the Vornavians (Malwind's men). But indirectly, Bobmuhthol is right, since returning the crystals untainted meant Hochstib needed to at least return the crystals, which would have brought about the death of his soldiers rather quickly I'd think.
