Come on. You wouldn't like to play GS with your son or daughter? He's not saying he's going to spawn the next Tsin. I'm sure he'll play some sports, go fishing, and other normal dad/son stuff. I take my brothers to baseball games, fishing, hiking, , museums, concerts, etc.... And I'll still kick their asses online over XBox. What's wrong with a healthy balance?

my son is active in sports gets A's in school and is really good at pretty much any FPS game for xbox or pc.

but there has not been a game where he can express himself and show some imagination as well as helping him with his typing. Gemstone will allow him to open up his mind, we had a talk about some books I got him and he was thinking of becoming a writer. Gemstone will allow him to kind of write his own story.

So i think this will be a good thing for him and hopefully he will write the next harry potter type book and have millions of fans all thanks to gemstone!

So Gemstone is not just a game it can be a good tool to open up his imagination.

But thanks for trying to judge me!

Not gonna lie, Gemstone taught me how to type when I was growing up.

Don't worry about the haters Deadly. Gemstone can be a very good imagination builder. And as a teen it helped my typing, writing, story building, and social interaction skills. Nothing wrong with that.

My Dad played catch with me plenty and I have a rocket arm.

But he didn't buy me a computer so I had to watch Demjorian (my IRL best friend for 16 years) play over his shoulder until I was in my 20s and got my own 'puter.

So be an awesome Dad, play Gemstone with your kids and take him out to play catch while you guys are frying down EXP!

and keeping bidding on my accounts please

The only reason if I did have kids I wouldn't try to get them into it now is because it's becoming a dead game, if it was 1996 I would totally be for my son or daughter playing it. I just enjoyed the game so much more back in the day then now. Although I just started play 2 months ago and I have been having pretty good times so far.

Yup. To this day i don't use my right pinky when i type, because of gemstone it was always at the ready to hit enter for all the rapid fire, short commands.

I didn't even realize this until HS when someone pointed it out to me.

would bid more on the other account, but I think it's a great idea that
Deadly has....I've tried to get other family members to play GS, but no one has the imagination or the desire to learn the game mechanics....You go Deadly and don't let anyone disuade you against your intentions.

As a teen, GS HELPED your social skills?

I remember GS causing me to do stupid shit as a teen, like say "laugh" instead of actually laughing.

By the way I live like 10 minutes from West Haven.

Doesn't matter who it is, shadey to suddenly discover this information after the sale closed. Especially since it closed (relatively) cheaply. Appropriate price given the downturn of character sales recently, however.

Just saying.

I'm not trying to judge and I'm sorry if I offended you...

But I think you mis-interpreted what I said. I'm not saying that Gemstone or Xbox is unhealthy for a kid. I completely agree with your statement above. I don't need to be lectured on the merits of Gemstone: I'm a product of playing from a younger age. All things in moderation.

I was talking about the "bonding" aspect. I don't have kids, so perhaps I'm off-base, but I don't see much of a bonding opportunity in sitting together playing this game. However, I've done that with my friends several times...and isn't that what bonding is about? Being friends? I could see benefits, conversation starters and life-lessons from "Look what I bought today!" or "XXX is such a douche-tard, lets kill him!" or even "Hey, I'd like you to meet my new girlfriend."

I kinda changed my mind mid-paragraph there...I think I was just looking at it from the wrong perspective. I'm not a hater.

I disagree. It will give them something in common. I remember the first time I met someone else in my school who played. We actually became friends because of that.

Come over and have a drink and dinner sometime. If I can trust Stanley, I'm sure I could trust you.

And by social interaction, I meant more like being able to think about what I said before I said it. I now have a mental delete a delete key.
