You know what I am tired of? Dozens of threads complaining about bad roleplay, idiot people like Warclaidhm, bad GS outfits, etc. How bout you people just STFU and STOP WHINING! Jesus Christ, all I see when I read these forums is bitching and whining about the way people dress, act, or whatever. How bout we get decent discussions about things that matter in-game? Yes, Gemstone is a roleplaying game, yes, these are free forums to do and say whatever. However, I think we all know by now there are tons of idiots in Elanthia, and that a lot of people don't know how to roleplay well. Must it be said over, and over, and over, and over? Thanks, that is all. I'd prefer no one even reply to this... That way it doesn't turn into a whine/flame war. Bitch and moan to yourself, because I am tired of reading this bullshit.

Apolyon, you -do- realize that you're reading a folder called "Gemstone Complaints" right? That the whole point to this particular folder is to provide a place where people can complain?

You also -do- realize that there are over two dozen OTHER folders in this forum that are -not- specifically created for complaints, right? And that in the majority of those folders, people <gasp> don't complain about each other?

Now granted, the most popular folders DO include complaints about this that or the other thing.

But honestly, if everything was hunky dory in Gemstone, there would be no reason for any forum to exist. It would be filled with nothing but:

Hey, I like this!

response: Same here!

and it would die a very dull and uneventful death.

I think you misunderstood me. I've killed less than 10 people in the 4 or so years Edaarin's existed, and I wouldn't do it for something out of game (even though this is game related).

What I meant was, it's easy to accept being called a moron under a name no one knows you by, and it doesn't at all affect your reputation IG.

I think the point was that it shouldn't affect your reputation IG.

Now I don't know... and it's a good question to ask if people are truly willing to be honest about answering it.

Does, and more importantly, should complaints made on this BBS, or other OOC sources, be taken into the game. I will admit, I would take into account OOC factors when getting to know someone in the game. Not that I'd go kill someone or do something stupid, but if I know someone is a scammer because of this BBS, or that someone is perhaps a bit... stupid... that goes into how I would react with them in the game.

Perhaps that's a bad thing for me to do. I know it's natural for me to do it, so maybe it isn't so bad afterall...

What are any of your thoughts?

People are being hypocrites if they say that some of their real feelings don't have some influence over how they have their characters behave. You naturally are nicer to your friends' characters regardless of who they are. If you hear of someone treating your ingame spouse badly, you don't associate with them very well.

No I would never upfront be nasty to someone because of something that I read on these boards, however I will be weary of them and not trust them as much as I trust most strangers I meet. I won't go out of my way to avoid them or actually meet them to confirm what I've heard though.

I didn't know Gracy from Adam... but when I heard of her on this board.. I actually set one of my characters in place to interact with her JUST so I could see what the hub bub was about. Found nothing noteworthy at all about her.

I write/complain here, because the Nazi shits on the real GS boards won't let us. This site provides a good form of Anger Expressment. To be honest, I only read this one folder, as I can get the rest of the Info I need off the official boards. The GMs don't give a shit about the RP quality of GS anymore. Otherwise we'd have no need for all the RP whining. I personally am glad to have a forum to speak my mind without some retard pulling my posts.

While his initial post may have been kinda bad, I do see his point though. I don't mind people complaining, whining, or whatever, but yeah, when it's about the SAME old freaking stuff, it's a bit annoying. C'mon, a bunch of threads about the same people? You guys end up giving those people way too much credit (even if its bad) and attention than they deserve. All those Warclaidhm, Haashek, Klaive threads are stupid and those people are glad they're there (at least in the case of Klaive, heh.. yeah, more attention with this post too :P). Thank goodness this is a message board where we can skip over topics.

So yeah, go ahead and complain, but at least come up with fresh complaints. It's like Edge's old topics always bashing Simu, saying GS sucks, GMs are corrupt, and this and that.
