Dateline 6/7/2009: ROADWAY FOUND LEADING FROM TA'VAALOR TO OLD TA'FAENDRYL · on 6/7/2009 10:26:24 PM 1993
Reply
Sergeant Corilaera of the Vaalorian Army and a squad of citizen volunteers, on an exploratory mission investigating reports of increased creature activity north of Glaise Cnoc, have discovered the remains of an ancient elven-built road. This dangerous path stretches from the north part of the Ta'Vaalor graveyard to the Gyldemar Road, outside the approach to Old Ta'Faendryl.
Though apparently once grand and well kept, the route is now filled with dangerous obstacles that only the most well trained adventurers can traverse, as well as the occasional hostile creatures that can interrupt travel. High Lord Stewardess Tahlthi Vaalor has stated that the Vaalorian army will not tour this trail, and that anyone travelling upon it travels at their own extreme risk.

and......it's limited to Vaalorian citizens only.
Name: Sergeant Corilaera
Profession: Vaalor Army Soldier
Race: Elf Gender: Female
Fraelia [quiet]: "Stop locating, we are hunting our own demons."
You gesture into the air.
Your vision begins to become murky and clouded. You have a sensation of rapidly passing distance. Eventually your sight begins to clear and a vision of Corilaera's surroundings fills your mind...
[Longsword Table]
In impressive condition for its age, a sleek black rolaren longsword has been mounted high upon the adjacent, deep crimson wall. A golden beeswax candle emanates a warm glow from within the confines of an iridescent glaesine sphere set at the center of the cherrywood table. You also see the sparkling Sighisoara disk.
Also here: Lady Cylnthia who is sitting, High Lord Sighisoara who is sitting, Zuie who is sitting, Athgo who is sitting, Windermere who is sitting, Lady Quessara who is sitting, Fraelia who is sitting, Ferites, Sergeant Corilaera who is sitting
Obvious exits: out
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
We tried to talk to them, but the "storytelling" or whatever part is going on now is limited to Vaalor citizens only.
Ismurii whispers to the group, "They haven't enough clerics, or empaths, and we are offering our services, they wont accept, or trust us, because we haven't their citizenship."
(OOC) Hevinsbane's player whispers, "Ooooooo tavaalor gona grow."

[Plains of Bone, Outer Circle]
The walls turn the path sharply to the southeast. The bones of small varmints crunch underfoot with each step. Nearby, a section of the outer wall has collapsed into the darkness of the night. The rubble prevents any passage through the portal, however. You also see a ruffled horned owl that is flying around, a small raven that is flying around and a breach in the inner wall.

[Aradhul Road, Rocky Trail]
A small but sheer cliff rises sharply up, effectively preventing northward movement. A trail leads roughly south, a thin ribbon cutting through the thick forest of towering trees. Layers of fallen leaves carpet the forest floor, providing a rich growing environment for the flora clustering about each tree grasping for bits of light that filter through the forest canopy. A towering old oak dominates the area near the cliff face, and almost hidden beneath its spread of branches rests a twisted and broken metal lift. You also see a great white wolf, a ruffled horned owl that is flying around, a small raven that is flying around, a red-necked falcon that is flying around, a disgruntled wood spirit that is flying around, the sparkling Sighisoara disk and a sleek raven that is flying around.

I have 30 ranks of climbing and I was having success about half the time. *shrug*
Oh, and the "official" exploration that was scheduled for this evening is over. Everyone can feel free to go break their necks climbing and jumping, all they want.
That was fun. Sucky thing is, you can't fog out dead people. Atleast not from the floor of the ravine. The ogres are useful for the people tired of hunting the bog, imo.

We fogged out of the floor of the ravine, the south shore one. Leads you to Illi from there.
Also the hell with fogging them out!
You gesture at Windermere.

Warding failed!
Wisps of black smoke swirl around Windermere and she bursts into flame!
... 70 points of damage!
Flame burns through Windermere's abdomen. Greasy smoke billows forth.
* Windermere drops dead at your feet!
The bright luminescence fades from around Windermere.
The silvery luminescence fades from around Windermere.
The glowing specks of energy surrounding Windermere suddenly shoot off in all directions, then quickly fade away.
Windermere seems to lose some dexterity.
Windermere appears somehow different.
Windermere seems a bit less imposing.
The shimmering multicolored sphere fades from around Windermere.
Windermere returns to normal color.
The tingling sensation and sense of security leaves Windermere.
Windermere appears less secure.
The brilliant luminescence fades from around Windermere.
The deep blue glow leaves Windermere.
The light blue glow leaves Windermere.
Windermere glances around, looking a bit less confident.
Windermere becomes solid again.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

* Windermere just bit the dust!

Now killing on the trip was just lame.
You should have heard her mouth, she rotted.
as for climbing ranks
capped unencumbered dark-elf with 40 ranks climbing, and 30 ranks of PF had a BITCH of a time climbing.
Capped giantman, 20 ranks climbing, 40 ranks PF had barely any issues.
Edit: Oh and the Giant was heavily weighted down.
It was stated in the announcement, you just need to pay attention to the wording.
All concerned citizens are invited to accompany her on this quest to lend their assistance. A high level of risk and danger is expected.

New hunting areas are always great I guess, even if it is in Ta'Vaalor.
New hunting areas are always great I guess, even if it is in Ta'Vaalor.
Not a new area, just a new way to get to an old one. But it does give people in TV an option that circumvents the ferry.
Though, I thought they just recently updated the ferry to move faster. How long does it take to get through this new trail? Is it worth it?
