Barrels

Could anyone please tell me how to go back and forth to River's Rest in the barrel? Is it free? I make a lot of trips back and forth between RR and Solhaven and 35K for each round trip blows. Thank you.

I'm probably wrong but I thought the barrel trip was more expensive.

Nope, barrels aren't free. They cost either the cost of your ticket, or double your ticket (I believe this depends on your citizenship, but I don't recall for sure).

With your ticket in hand: on the Solhaven side, ASK the dockworker about BARREL, then give him the amount of coin he asks for and he'll stuff you in a barrel. On the RR side, have ticket in hand, go to the shack that is sitting where the Bait pulls in, ask the half-elf about barrel, give coins asked for, and he'll stuff you in.

Once in the barrel, you can PEER OUT to see where you are, and you can log off... if you do so, when you log back on, you can PEER OUT again to see where you are. I've had times where I'm moved quickly (like, within five minutes... when this happens, I've logged off, waited a few minutes, then logged back on), or I have to actually wait the hour-ish that the Bait actually takes to get from one town to the other. I have no idea what this depends on, but it seems to be when one town or the other is having "invasion"-type things going on.

What's the benefit to taking the Barrel from RR->Solhaven? I know taking it from Sol->RR makes it so you can't get nabbed by the navy (something that is incredibly annoying when it happens, although it has only happened to me once in about 30 trips.

Can the navy grab you going from RR->Sol?

You can log off in the barrel, and make it to your destination when you come back (assuming enough time has passed for the cutter to actually arrive at your destination).

No the navy does not get you on the return trip, Butt Pirates do though!

They kick you off the boat from RR->Sol Haven, much like they would if you stood around for too long when they're at shore. They just throw you off the boat and you appear on this shore next to shanty town in sol haven.

Do you non-citiziens have to wait for the cutter to come pick you up or is it instant travel?
