It is pronounced wudder ya uneducated fools. I got 55% Dixie.. My mom lived in Alabama a few times when she was a kid, and my whole pop-pop's side is from Alabama so I also have some family there.
53% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.
Well, I do declare.

I guess Northern VA is pretty damn close to the border (VA being south, MD being north)
Also, Devil's night was in "The Crow", which is where most of my friends learned about it. Not necessarily a "Michigan" thing.

We have some drive-thru beer distributors.. But in PA a store can't sell both liquor and beer, one or the other.
TheEschaton
02-23-2004, 06:56 PM
Yeah, in the south. my friend moved to Texas and informed me of this incredible fact a few days later.
I mean, in WNY, you can buy alcohol (mostly beer and those fruity drinks like hard lemonade) almost anywhere, from a gas station to a grocery store to a convienance store (in MA, all the alcohol seems to be limited to liquor stores, even beer). But a drive through liquor store?
That stikes me as a bit fucking stupid. They must have huge disclaimers "Do not drink this until you get out of your car, you dumb redneck!" just to stay out of legal trouble.

See, I lived in Charlotte for about a year & never saw a drive through liquor store. I know they sell liquor in gas stations and such. I've never seen a convient store in MA sell liquor. But, that would be awesome if they did that up here. The only drive throughs I've seen up here are fast food & pharmacy drive throughs, heh.

Heh, where I live you can't buy liquor and beer from the same store. So if you go to the grocery store, you have to go elsewhere for the wine. And I've never seen any drive through liquor stores. However, there are a couple of drive through tobacco stores around here.

?? I probably don't get what you're asking exactly but it's pretty much a 'are you a southerner' quiz, seeing as the lower the percentage is Yankee and the higher percentage is Dixie.
Bobmuhthol
02-23-2004, 11:33 PM
Yes, I know what it is, I just think the scoring was innovative.
You start out with 50%, questions either add or subtract, if your final score is < 50% you're a Yankee, > 50% you're a Dixie, and the further you are from 50% the more of a Yankee/Dixie you are.
People don't share my fond interest in awesome things like this.

Perhaps if they had asked the question, what do you call the beach, and I could answered with "the shore" I would have scored yankee.
I declare this test innacurate.

Brew-Thru also in Ocean City, MD.
My grandparents live in Southern Maryland, and there's a "Jimmy's Cut Rate Liquor" right down the street with a drive-thru alcohol pickup.

My dad often comes back from the store with a 5-pack. I keep telling them they don't sell 5-packs, but he swears by it.

Yeah, the test is fucked up. I never lived south of Connecticut and it gave me 39%.
Now if it was a real test it'd have the REAL name for that bubbly carbonated drink. It's called "tonic."

Get this, in PA (or at least where the rest of my family lives) you can only purchase alcohol until 9pm. 9:01, you're screwed. And you can only buy it in liquor stores.
In AZ, you can buy liquor ANYWHERE, and there is no time restriction. I tell this to my cousins who still live back east and they are awed.
82% (Dixie). Did you have any Confederate ancestors?
Yes. Which is why I can't understand why my score isn't a 100%. I've never been further north than KY. I even had grits for supper tonight! Who wrote this test and what were their motives? ;P

How yall doin? And just for information sake, in Texas i have seen several drive through Beer Barns, and the name of the places was "Beer Barn". Although i prefer not to shop at them because usually a short ways down the road (binocular distance away) there is a highway patrol watching the place, lots of DUI's.
