So are there any other good games out there? Right now, I need a game that I don't have to spend hours and hours at since my life is somewhat hectic currently... but man, watching tv and/or playing CoDWaW is getting old.

Doing pretty well. He's not pushing achievements so much now til Yogg is dead. We went in and killed 9 bosses last night, gonna hit the 3 prior to Yogg tomorrow then spend the rest of the week on Yogg.

I think he realized there were a lot of unhappy people. I still hear a lot of people who aren't exactly thrilled but most of them are slack asses who don't show up for progression, etc.

I've actually cut back my raiding to 3 days, or have been trying to. This past monday he specifically asked me to come, saying I could leave early. I'm still having more fun on my mage and paladin than anything.

Best thing about Fallout 3 for the PC is the mods. You can alter the game to pretty much do anything you want. Don't like the vats system? Gone. Too easy? Makes it harder. Too hard? Makes it easier. More content, more weapons, more enemies, vehicles. Whatever you can think of, there is a mod for it.

In my game I have like 3x the normal spawn rates, I can build and repair robots to fight along side me, and have a complete overhaul of all the weapons/armor/drugs/etc. Over 150 new weapons. 50+ new perks to train in. The game never really gets stale.

Anyone else know a game (Besides Oblivion) which is as highly moddable?

Generals zero hour was my favorite C&C. If you don't like RA3 and want to give it a try then you might want to get the C&C first decade ($20?), which includes all the C&C games up to generals, so it's a much better deal. That way, if your feeling nostalgic you can play some of the older games.

Part of the reason I left WoW... I couldn't do the 2am thing anymore. And moving into a new house, I STILL have to set up my new garage.. so there is no way I can spend 5 hours glued to the computer for fear I'll get yelled at for not shooting something as hard as some other hunter.

Finally opened Mass Effect this morning. Bought it on launch day and hadn't even tried it yet. Seems pretty good so far. Can't wait for a new KotOR.

The only good thing about being laid off is finally being able to play some games for a week or two. I still haven't opened Call of Duty 4, Bad Company, GTA, Bioshock, Super Smash Brothers, and a ton of Dreamcast games.

I've been stuck playing Marvel v. Capcom 2 and card/board games recently. Setting up an Axis and Allies board sucks! Especially after your dumbass girlfriend decides to "clean" the house, and ruins a month long game.

Tell me about it. In majority Uld25 gear, I have to be on top of my game to approach 5k dps as a shadow priest. If my latency is particularly bad or I'm feeling shitty, I'm around 4k dps. I recently dual specced my druid boomkin, and he pulls 3k dps in a mix of Naxx10 and heroic epics easy, and most of his boomkin gear is unenchanted. What fucking stupidity. WTB spriest buff and a rejection of the idea of the hybrid dps class, since there seems to be no other "hybrid dps" class.

I tried that myself with similar results. There's an arcade cabinet manufacturer about five minutes away from me that throws arcade cabinets on the curb for the garbage men to pick up. I was making a Mame machine and my stupid little brother snapped all my chips in half and poured iced-tea on everything. Little fucker.

The slow death of arcades in this country (the world?) makes me cry. I have some damn fine memories of hours spent in the arcade in the mall when I was growing up, and even at the Union during college (where MvC2 was, in fact, my poison of choice). I made a lot of good friends in the regular crowd there...it's a subculture that I really enjoyed, and mourn the passing of.

To address the OP, what are you working with? A 360? PC? If you have access to XBLA (and friends), play Castle Crashers. It's mindless, amusing fun (especially with 4 players).

I actually bought a 4 player D&D arcade game when my local arcade shop closed, me and 3 other friends, it was something like $200-300 total, I fronted a double share so it was going to my parents house (I think we were about 13 at the time). I got there with my dad's truck, he saw the thing and flipped "It's HUGE! This isn't a normal arcade machine! You won't be able to fit it in the freaking door, we can't take this, sorry."

We could have fit it... I kick myself to this day for not having the sense to just say we could disassemble it. (Especially since I'm considering rooming with two of those 3 other kids in the next few months, we'd have put it in our living room, we're actually considering hunting one down now).

I'd really like to get Modern Warfare 2 on PS3 since that's what most of my friends will be playing on, but I really can't stand playing FPS games with analog controls so I'll probably end up getting it on PC. After playing FPS games with a mouse and having so much more speed and precision, playing on analog sticks makes me wanna kill myself.

A friend of mine bought that PS3 SplitFish mouse (it's a mouse and a wii-like nunchaku thing in place of a keyboard) and he let me borrow it with COD5 to check it out, and all the mouse did was emulate the analog controls, which gave it a nice fat deadzone to deal with anytime you move the mouse, making it pretty much pointless to use. Unreal Tournament on PS3 was no different when I plugged my mouse in. Then I played the PC version with real mouse support and it pwned.

While that may be true, so what? I used to play Doom on PC with just the keyboard back in the day. I didn't cry about it when I got destroyed by people using a mouse. Instead, I just learned to play with a mouse and couldn't imagine going back to a keyboard after.

I liked what I saw of Borderlands at PAX in September, although I haven't been following its development since.

I've been playing Dungeon Fighter recently whenever I'm bored. It's a nice, easy-to-get-into game, very intuitive. It doesn't absorb too much time and it's free (barring buying Nexon points to spend fixing up your character's appearance.) I haven't played any of Nexon's other games but they're Mabinogi, Maple Story, Combat Arms, and others I'm sure I've forgotten because I had no interest.
