How many ranks of perception does one need to regularly find that first crevice or whatever it is that leads from the slopes to the chrismas tree area?

I lucked out and Gardeth came in and pointed at it for me and I set a bunch of rings, but i'll run out eventually (cause I am ringdumb).

Sometimes, you need to leave the room and go back in to reset the searching, I have no idea why.

Ok, thanks, I only have 23 perception ranks, but I searched forever. I'll try leaving and comming back.

What he said. Not sure why, but sometimes I would search over and over and never spot it. The moment I left and came back, I found it first shot. Only have 24 ranks of perception.

It's been easier to leave the room and come back in between searches for as long as I remember, just figured it was supposed to be that way
