interesting...note to self: do not kiss sphere regardless of who tells you to. It results in a fairly pathetic death.

Bug note: You will also continue to bleed after "sphere" death. I'm currently at -748 blood.

i thought travellers song got you back to pinefar outpost so long as you do it from the birthing sands. Is there even an Inn there?
You can use sign of darkness to get to the same place if you're col.

Sigil of escape works from the sands, if you're Sunfist. Takes you back to Pinefar.

From the sands you can ring out. Set one to Pinefar and off you go.

Here's a new one. Dead in the Rift. Died at 1:20 EST. It's now 1:40. I haven't been LK'd, but I also haven't decayed. Is this standard for this fucking place, or is this yet another bug? If so, wtf? I've found more goddamned bugs in the past month than I even care to report.

I think I'm remembering now that decay times double in the Rift (everywhere?) to allow people the chance to rescue you.

I hated the rift. Everything about it, getting there, hunting there, leaving there, and dying there all sucks. Here is usually my experience with the rift.

Player 1: anyone want to go hunting?
Me: sure I'll go
Player 2: I'll go also
Player 3: I'm in, , where are we hunting?
Player 1: the rift
Me: Nevermind, I'm going to a table
Player 2: yeah I'm going to practice my guild stuff
Player 3: I'm going to go sit at the well

I was all gung-ho about hunting the rift once I turned 66? or whatever it was to get in. I hunted there a day and said fuck that. It wasn't the difficulty of the place. It was the absolute tedium.

Funny, the Rift is by far my favorite hunting grounds. I LOVED my time in the Rift. Its important to have a "guide" the first time you go to show you the ropes and tell you to a) not kiss the sphere, b) not eat fleshbulbs, c) not pick up urglaes fangs/doomstones/oblivion quartz, etc.

I think it might have something to do with your profession as well. Clerics seem to do well there. A lot of it is just learning the ropes, and knowing how to get in without losing all your mana (that was a big one for me). Dieing does suck there, rarely get rescued unless someone you know is around, but overall, I still say it was my favorite place. I'm looking forward to the expansion area!

Oh, and the room descriptions are brilliantly twisted and sick. Remind me of that movie "The Cell" with Jennifer Lopez.

Not to mention how to move around, how to survive on planes you get rifted to, and how the hell to get out.

That being said... love the Rift. I'm a tad old for Plane One, unfortunately, and still young enough to get feared on Plane Three. And Plane Two just sucks ass, and I refuse to attempt to hunt there. But another level or two and I'm going to be a happy camper on Three.
