Vanthar the lvl 30 bard.

I sing the following song:


loresing sword;.....................................

since each loresong has to be different, I just add another period at the end of the previous verse.

Now you can target specific information by adding specific words to the second line, weight, value, worth... stuff like that.

Is there a guide or something that exhaustively explores loresinging?

"nature" is another keyword I use.

Is there a keyword you can use instead of special ability that targets the same information? I hate trying to create loresongs with special ability.

just "ability" should work. I think I've tried "spell" as well, but I go in order, so my third verse always gives me that info.

Well what I usually do is sing the song I mentioned above, just repeat the same thing with another period so it changes the song.

loresing sword;.........................
loresing sword;..........................
loresing sword;...........................
loresing sword;............................
loresing sword;.............................

This seems to cycle through all the pertinent information.

I've found that if I don't follow the appropriate steps, I get stonewalled.

So if I loresing about the sword and on my first song, I want to know the special ability, I get "you learn nothing new."

are you kidding me? you use periods? Am I missing something here?

Go read Sunbaem's guide. Needs a little updating but it's still useful in explaining the why's and how's of loresinging.

heh, yeah I do actually.

Truthfully, if I played Vanthar much, I'd probably start workin out some workable rhymes.

When loresinging off the cuff, I have found that the keywords get in my way. I'd like a flag to set so that it would recognize or not the keywords.

This is why I usually refrain from loresinging for people. Just myself.
