For pure hunting you will want to be doubled in armor, CM, weapon, dodge, hide, ambush. PT is the prime stat that determines Redux, however by your level you'll be reaching the top of the redux level, so I'd drop down to either 1.5x to 1x. If you post a few logs of being hit, I'll calculate it for you.

Tripled perception and hiding for a hunter rogue are pretty much pointless. In my experience you can either hide in front of a critter with 2x in training or not hide with a million ranks.

I'd 2x dodge, 1.5x shield, though if you are going for more DS, 2x shield as well. But get dodge and armor up there.

she wears padded brig, what armor should i put her in if i doubble?

If you have enough points to full double (which I doubt), you could be in MBP. Otherwise hauberk would be good. I'd concentrate bringing Dodge up to par though, before armor.

would you suggest something diffrent about her Stats?

Edit: what exactly does dodging do now?

Bring CON down to the mid-eighties or so, possibly 90. Same with Dex and Agility (no lower than 90 though). While you'll see a loss in AS/DS etc, you can easily pump this 30-40 points into things like Intuition, Logic and Aura. I'd raise Intuition to atleast 75, possibly 80, Aura to 70 atleast (don't bother if she's not in COL however), then put the rest possibly in logic. FYI I never start a character who has less than 65 in Logic: they absorb exp too slow for my liking otherwise.

Dodge helps you evade attacks. It also adds extra DS. I suggest you look at the EBP system in the combat guide on the GS4 website for more info.

I just want to sit back and amuse myself with the idea of Edine playing a girl.

02-23-2004, 09:46 AM
hmm I thought perception helps with aiming... do you have a suggestion of the weapon to use..

StrayRogue
02-23-2004, 09:48 AM
It does, but as a OHE user you don't need to be tripled. 2x is fine. For ambushing, I'd use a dagger or short sword. For general fighting, the oldies are the best: Falchion, longsword, axe etc. With 1.5x perception and 1x ambush I hit what I aim for most times. You are doubling both these skills AND using a small weapon, so you'll be hard pressed to miss often.

02-23-2004, 09:52 AM
how does the crit stuff work now will i have a better chance with a smaller weapon?

What's with the 4 ranks of disarming and picking? Just nix the training if you're not going to do it and put those points into dodge at least.

No, its no easier to get a crit with a smaller weapon than it is with a large one. Smaller ones are just quicker and more accurate.

Basically when you do enough damage to do a crit, it becomes random. It can go up a crit threshold, remain the same crit, or go down. The benefit of small weapons is that you can attack more prone areas such as necks and eyes where even the lower crits cause stuns and deaths, with a greater accuracy and speed.

was starting to take up picking with the extra TP's

02-23-2004, 10:57 AM
Hmmm did not constitution help with your chance of CRITS? or did they change that?

StrayRogue

Erm, not scoring crits no. It may help reduce crits, though that is speculation. Beyond that it determines HP, HP regeneration, resistance to certain maneuver attacks like poison and disease and encumberance.

I know my answer isn't really about hunting, but if you're not going to at least single every training, it's not even worth the effort. Save up those TPs for something else.

02-23-2004, 12:08 PM
how are your stats even possable where do you get all the TP's form?

Ok, I'm a little late on this subject, so I'll just make sweeping comments, insted of trying to respond to all the stuff.

First off, stick with the 30 ranks of armor. Next month, they are adjusting armor, and it will be nearly impossible to hide in anything over brig. Also, if your going with a pure hunter / non-picker. Go for two handers. The DS pushdown with a bastardsword is killer fun.

Thought it was 35 for brig? And I was gonna say the same thing don't go too heavy on the armor because of the hiding.
