Here is the last one. Kind of hard to see, I took it from across the canal. It was an all night party and they had MTV projections on the dome's of Cathedrals and other large buildings. It was a strange site.

Ok, this is the last one. The post above where I said I had a really cool picture of a guy but it was to blurry to post, I found another shot with him in it and cropped it down to just him, but its not nearly as good :( The one I was hoping for has him leaning towards me with his hand out reaching for me. His wings are spread wide behind him and his horns were really visible. But this is the best I ended up with..... Hope you like the photos. Wanted to share.

I loved San Marco square when I was in Venice! Minus all the pigeons and the flooding, that is.

I will go to carnivale one day before i die.

I agree Michi, the flood lines were still fresh, you could see where just weeks before it was up to three feet above walking level.

Don't put it off to long Edine! They say that one day Venice will be gone if the renovations don't go well. They are trying to stablize as much of the city as possible but its sinking. :(

When I was 18 I had week and a half trip to Italy. I didn't like Rome much, crowded, lot of museums and churches (yawn). Venice was cool, stayed in a nice little hotel. Had to take a gondola to different places, went to San Macro square which was cool, good pictures (the day after I went there was some kind of protest when someone had an assault rifle).

But my favorite has to be Florence. Nice open area, kids breakdancing on the sidewalks, lots of nice shops, great food (though they still haven't gotten the "american breakfast" down, as much as they advertise it. No catsup with my pancakes, thanks)

I'd go back in a heartbeat. My mom may be doing a few weeks over there this summer (visiting different cities then I did, not sure which ones), so I may head out for a few days.
