So I got root on my G1 today and installed an app that lets you use your G1 as a wireless access point and use the 3g modem to browse the web on your laptop. I'm rather excited because I'm tired of paying 15 dollars a night for wifi in hotels.
Browsing now with it, ran a speedtest, it's acceptably fast even.

If you have a G1 it's pretty easy, I found some nice step by step instructions (after I had done it :) )
