So I'm taking my wife to Cirque du soleil's La Nouba for her birthday, she doesn't know it yet and she hasn't been on the forums in forever to actually read this.
Anyone been to a cirque show? I kinda wanna see zumanity after looking through the site. Gotta figure out somewhere to eat now, it's in downtown disney so maybe one of those restaraunts. Wasn't there a disneycon where they ate at one of those places?

O is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Mystere was great but not as good. Haven't heard of La Nouba
Been to a couple of shows. Love and I forget the other one. Very entertaining.

I thought Corteo (sp?) was pretty good, but wasnt as well done as their other ones.. my wife and her family have been to a lot of them.. I always had to work.
They're awesome.

I've been to La Nouba twice at Downtown Disney. I've also been to shows in Boston, MA and Manchester, NH.
The best thing about the Disney show is that it's in a dedicated theater so there are really no bad seats. I paid big bucks for third row in Manchester and couldn't see the stage floor. Same seats in Orlando were freaking awesome.
The first time I ate at Planet Hollywood with a date, it was pretty crowded and the food was standard fare that you'd get at any chain restaurant.
Second time I took the kids to the Wolfgang Puck place, it was really quite good. They also have a Wolfgang Puck express with a more limited menu, but still well prepared food.
I've also eaten at the Rainforest Cafe in the normal Disney park, it was overpriced, bland and it's there's the whole "cattle" feel as you're herded along. I'd assume the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney is much the same.

You can and should make reservations by telephone.

Seats in the house matter to enjoyment level to a certain degree. You get an entirely different experience close up versus far away. Sometimes close is a good difference, sometimes not. I wouldn't recommend close for Delirium. It really helped Corteo and Saltimbanco.
I've seen a fair amount of Cirque shows (my folks are dance professors) and I recommend just about all of them. I've never seen La Nouba. O over Zumanity though, definitely. O's brilliant.

The show was fucking amazing.. and the seating looked WAY more spread out than it actually was.. If you're ever in downtown disney seriously get some tickets. Ended up eating at planet hollywood which is like 2 blocks away, it actually tasted better than I was expecting, regular disney area pricing.

Weird. Entertaining. Almost gave me an LSD flashback.
