Same here.. for their ISP. I still have AOL as my homepage because they still have one of the best formats that give me a smattering of information from all different places.

It's because AOL provides no way for those who adopted their email system back in the day to forward or change services. My parents, for example, have an AOL address as their main account. They cannot forward this to another account to mitigate the transition. Thus, they're 'stuck'. Many people don't want to deal with the bloated and content-heavy software, so they just use the AOL site to get their mail.

AOL has 2 options, in my book: Make a better email system (it's nowhere near the quality, speed or ease-of-use as something like Gmail), or allow forwarding (Which would hurt).

Seriously though, I really do like it. I get snippets of interesting news, a little bit of gossip, and some articles I save for later, like recipes and stuff.

And I still use free AOL mail because I like it. It wouldn't be hard to change my e-mail with friends/family and my online banking and school stuff, so I dunno why forwarding would be so necessary. I have gmail for my school mail, and honestly, I like AOL mail just as much. :shrug:
