Built a new pc, don't need my old laptop. I posted on craigslist but all I got were spam emails from people wanting to paypal the funds and have me ship it to nigeria.

Changed the amount and reposted, same thing.

Thinking about ebay but I haven't used ebay in years and I'm wondering if it will even be seen.

Any suggestions on a good place to sell a laptop? I'm looking to get $500-600 out of it.

I sold a broken laptop on ebay fast with no problems.

Also you should check locally there are a ton of places around here that I could of sold it to for the same amount. They scoop that shit up fast but I didn't have the transportation and thus patience to deal with it locally so I went ebay and just shipped the bitch.

*I also sold one here to a PC member via paypal. Never heard back from him however I hope all went as advertised.

I had one of those for awhile and it cost a fucking fortune at the time and ended up giving me shit most of the other time. I sold it to the VP for his son in college at my company for cheap looking for brownie points and...

The fucker died like two weeks after he bought it from me.

Just make sure you wipe it clean like 7 times to get rid of any personal I.D. stuff. That would be my biggest fear for selling. That's also why I have 6 laptops and 3 desktops.

Lol.

The one I sold here was sans harddrive and had a shattered LCD. The price was good compared to what it cost to repair and the value of the unit refurbished.

If I had the money I would have kept it myself to fix if that means anything to you. If anything said person got a Windows Vista key out of it.

It was a good deal none the less.

*"could fix for 150ish and sell for 700ish most likely if looking for profit. I'm just on a 7 day gotta get the fuck out of here time limit or I'd do it myself."

You might want to consider lowering your expectations. That is by no means a $600 used laptop. However, eBay is probably the best place to get rid of it if craigslist isn't working.

:yeahthat: Its a solid enough rig, but your unfortunately finding your self in competition with falling labtop prices across the board. I can pick up a little bit better rig from walmart for about the same price. Out of curiosity what model is your laptop & when did you get it?

Any ways, Ebay is your best bet. Aside that, if your interested in lowering your price let me know and I may be able to work something out.

Oh, it worked!

I bought it for my brother. Needed a new LCD and a hard drive. Sean was totally up-front about it. Not a major job to fix it up and get it working. And yea, it probably coulda been resold, but it ended up being quite useful to my brother.

Thanks again :-)

No problem I just forgot to follow up on it and was wondering. To the best of my ability and knowledge it was a cheap easy fix at the price point to get a pretty decent lappy.

I need the karma good to know.

The model # was DV9610US, bought from Microcenter last year. I think I got it for $899.99 plus tax? I then upgraded the RAM to 4GB.

As far as lowering the price, I'm open if you're seriously thinking about buying.

I'm going to double check the stats of your laptop vs a few of the apps & games I run and if it checks out I'll grab it if I can, the ATI graphics chip on the one I'm using now is about to fry & I need something before it completly craps out on me.
