So if I ever got the crazy notion to try and post for one of these in the wanted folders, what kind of debt would I be looking to get myself into?

There are plenty of perfect daggers, handaxes, morning stars and mattocks out there, so I'm sure a few of them have been enchanted that far. Mauls and Lances will soon be fairly numerous, too...
Falchions and other bases are a little more rare (probably since the weapons above--other than the dagger-- max out the mechanical benefits of using perfect forging).
And if it's more rare, then it's less likely to exist as a 7x or 8x at this point.
I think I might have create one perfect falchion in my day, probably from mithril. I've lost track of who bought it (it might have been through my shop, and it was probably only 4x at the time at a price of 3m - 4m).
All that to say, it's probably a hard item to find, but market value would place a 7x perfect at around 10m - 12m. Most folks who take a weapon to 7x or 8x do it for personal use, not for re-sale since it's really not worthwhile to put in months of work for a profit of 2-3m.

appreciate the advice, especially regarding the weapon benefit mechanics think I may reconsid into looking for a handaxe base then...

I paid 11.4 million for a 7x perfect handaxe.
