Also, does anyone know the best way to take over an account? Should the receiver be asking for full name, with the answer to the personal question part?

And what about transferring characters on an account that you didn't make yourself. If you put secondary billing on the account that does not match the original owners name, will that like auto flag you and close the account?

I'd assume the IP/email changes would be just about the same red flag as changes in billing CCs, but who knows.

Pretty sure a character can't be transferred to another account unless both accounts are in the same name.

Right but they can be transferred between realms. Which I guess I should have clarified.

Tbh there is no 'safe' way to take over an acct. If the original owner wants to be a dick, they can call & blizz will freeze the account pending notarized copies of the ID of the account owner being faxed in.

This can be rinsed & repeated indefinitely, so at best you could take turns screwing each other over by calling & reporting it hacked keeping the acct froze. :shrug:

yeah there's no safe way for the buyer. I have a friend who likes to say he's done with WoW "forever". He sells his account. Then a few months later he decides he wants to play again and steals it back.

The only safe way that I know of is for the receiver of the account to create an account with the same owner name, but the receiver sets the security question and whatnot, and has the original game box for the account.

That being said, considering it takes at max 3-6 months to cap, and even less with recruit a friend style stuff, there generally isn't much value to it in the end, and not worth the headache.

That's why I never keep anything on the one account someone gave me, in case he ever decides he arbitrarily wants it back. I do plan on leveling his characters to 80 at some point though, at the very least.

Right, so no interest in my accounts yet.

Both were attained from other players from these boards.

First has(Shadowsong) 70 orc warrior, 70 undead mage, 70 orc hunter, 75 tauren druid
375 mine/348 BS; 384 mine/408 JC; 420 skin/360 engineer; 457 herb/442 alch - respectively

Second account(Dunemaul) has 70 undead mage, 70 tauren druid, 50 undead warlock, 41 troll hunter
375 skin/356 enchant; 390 herb/ 363 alch; 244 mine/241 engineer; 163 herb

as well as a 40ish dwarf priest on another server
