SF completely reset. No highlights/scripts/macros. Nothing.
Had this happen a couple of years ago, so I back-up on a semi-regular basis, but it is still annoying. Anyone else had this happen and know (not think they know) the reason behind it?

Hmm I can't remember exactly but when I had it happen it was explained to me that I had a corrupted file take it all out somehow. Very much shitastic. I'd point you to the post but the officials have long since deleted them I'm sure.

Just had this happen like twice in the past week or so :\
Was kind of embarrassing because it completely reset my SF to default settings, which includes (for some god awfully stupid reason) the default of sending all commands as say.
As a result, the first thing i said when i logged into the park was "psinet who full"

I had something similar happen once. SF apparently has a finite amount of space for online script storage, and if you exceed that it'll automatically begin storing them locally on your hard drive. When it did that in my case, it deleted everything I had. Now I just store locally to save the bother.

That would be very sad if it's true, to the extent that I exceeded the online limit.
My entire backup xml file, which at most, with all of my scripts (missing a couple) and all my highlights etc., is less than 100kb.
I mean really simu? 17-50 bucks a month for a MUD built on slave labor and you can't kick down at least a meg per person?
Color me shocked :comp:

SBC (Stupidly Big sCript) is notorious for kicking people to local only.
I use so many different computers though, storing them locally is more of a pain than this random involuntary cleaning of the slate.

It will prompt you and say you've exceeded the storage limit. The limit isn't very high.

Never got the prompt...so either the prompt isn't working or something else is screwy on on the server that caused it.
Both equally likely but i'm leaning towards the latter. As i've had the same settings for like 2 or 3 weeks now with no changes and no problems (actually added a couple little scripts)

Last I heard, the limit for keeping macros, scripts, highlights, etc. etc. on the server is 2mb. Of course, they could have reduced it recently without telling anyone...

Yeah i'm definitely not at that. I don't have any really large stormfront scripts or a ridiculous amount of highlights or anything.
My entire stormfromt.xml has sub 100k with everything except window positions...i doubt i have 1.9mb of window positions :)

I just got prompted the other day on a new character when I imported my scripts. You have the prompting turned off in advanced options?

I use the wizard, and I merely mapped wizard script/highlight/etc paths to mapped network drive pointing to the content on my main PC. Problem solved. Now if ONLY Jamus could allow a PSInet setting where you can set where profiles are stored.
It won't help if you're using a computer at work (not without maybe something like gotomypc) but it works for multiple computers on the same lan.

Multiple computers in multiple time zones.
If I could get SF/Psinet and Lich all to live on an Ubuntu install my life would be much easier.
