It's pretty long. Rated PG-13 for some sexual content. It may or may not make your rofl. Gotta give credit to her for being a good sport about it and keeping it IG. I had to break it up into two parts via post and a reply. Enjoy...

[Onoir, Court of Chivalry]
Moonlight filters through the branches of an ancient elm located in the center of this aesthetic courtyard, reflecting upon the surface of a waterfall fountain along the main cobblestone path. Carefully tended wildflowers, grasses, and pathways comprise the remaining area, accented by a solitary wooden bench. The soothing chirping of crickets and the occasional hooting of owls fill the air, a peaceful counterpoint to the stout granite towers equipped with ballistae in each corner of the courtyard. You also see the Ismurii disk, some arched wooden double doors, a tranquil path and a raised portcullis.
Also here: Ismurii
Obvious paths: none

Ismurii's runestaff glows and slowly wraps itself around her waist.

Ismurii says, "I never been here before."

You say, "I just found it earlier today."

Speaking to you, Ismurii asks, "So did you have fun at the festival?"

You nod to Ismurii.

You sit down.

Ismurii says, "I didn't know there was a festival."

Ismurii sits down.

You say, "It was a convocation at the coraesine fields."

Ismurii exclaims, "Oh!"

Ismurii says, "Someone asked me if I wanted to go."

You say, "Many many merchants."

You ask, "Why didnt you?"

Your spell is ready.
You gesture.
You feel more secure.

Ismurii says, "I thought it was just for warriors and rogues or people who use weapons."

You shake your head.

You say, "It was open for all."

Ismurii asks, "I really missed out then, didn't I?"

You nod to Ismurii.

Ismurii frowns.

You reach under your double leather and give your banshee tattoo a little poke. It seems to give a small start and lumbers over to your neck before settling down.

You smile.

Ismurii says, "Oh well."

Ismurii blinks.

You reach over to your banshee tattoo and give it a little poke. It gives a small start and lumbers over to your leg before settling down.

You reach over to your banshee tattoo and give it a little poke. It gives a small start and disappears behind the double leather covering your chest.

Ismurii asks, "Did you just get that?"

You work your way out of some spiked double leather.
Removing your leather uncovers your banshee tattoo.

You nod to Ismurii.

You take a quick appraisal of Ismurii and find that she has no apparent injuries.

The leather covers your banshee tattoo.
Roundtime: 8 sec.

Ismurii ponders.

Ismurii curiously asks, "Did it hurt?"

Ismurii flaps her wings in a steady beat.

You shake your head.

You say, "She was gentle."

You pull the hood of your cloak down over your face, concealing your features.

Ismurii blinks.

The dull golden nimbus fades from around you.

Ismurii says, "I can't see you."

You remove the hood of your cloak, revealing your features.

You exclaim, "Boo!"

Ismurii gasps.

Ismurii clasps her hand over her mouth.

You grin.

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

Ismurii asks, "So did you notice anything?"

You peer quizzically at Ismurii.

Ismurii winks at you, tossing her head and striking a pose.

You see Ismurii Waldorf the Nurse.
She appears to be an Aelotoi of the Mrae'ni Clan.
She is shorter than average and appears to be youthful. She has sultry umber eyes and olive skin. She has long, curly autumn brown hair arranged in an intricately twisted roll at the back of her head and held in place by some golden hummingbird hairjewels. She has an oval face and a narrow waist. She has a pair of emerald green wings.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing an opaque glass amulet, a fragrant white lily, a lacquered modwir keg pin, a short apricot gown with a low-cut bodice and flaring multi-layered skirts, a faded taupe satchel, some double leather, a rune belt, a deep plum velveteen bag embossed with grape vines, and some calf-wrapped plum silk slippers.

Speaking disappointedly to you, Ismurii asks, "You didn't notice, did you?"

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

You stare at Ismurii.

You look at Ismurii and shake your head.

Ismurii bites her lip.

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

(Ismurii stretches out her hands towards you.)

Ismurii asks, "See?"

You grin.

You take off a tiny pale winter rose.

You offer your winter rose to Ismurii, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Click CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer.

You grin.

You pull Ismurii closer to you.

Ismurii bites her lip.

You wave your winter rose around.

Tracing a fingertip along the stem of your rose, you manage to prick your finger on a thorn. As you watch, a plump bead of crimson wells against the skin.

Ismurii slowly says, "If I take it..."

Cupping the blossom of the rose in the cradle of your hands, you bring the flower to your face and inhale deeply of its intense and heady fragrance.

You glance at Ismurii.

Ismurii says, "Does it mean... that..."

Your offer to Ismurii has expired.

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "I talked with some of my friends about you."

You think to yourself, "I cannot wait for the wedding day to kill her. I must do it now."

You blink at Ismurii.

Speaking to Ismurii, you ask, "What did you talk about?"

You think to yourself, "Muhahahahahaha!"

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "I have never been so anxious to know what more someone had to say than you."

The sense of peace and security begins to wane from the area.

Speaking slowly to you, Ismurii says, "You just... really surprised me, but I liked it, and I couldn't wait to talk to you again."

You smile.

You say, "I like those words."

Ismurii says, "But I will tell you one thing... you know how to make a woman go mad."

Ismurii shakes her head.

You blink.

You ask, "You are mad at me?"

Speaking amusedly to you, Ismurii says, "No, I mean mad, like... mental."

Ismurii starts chortling.

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

You ask, "Did I do something mean?"

Ismurii flutters her wings, stirring the air slightly.

Ismurii says, "Well, no."

Ismurii says, "You did break your promise though."

You sigh.

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "And I am not mad."

You say, "I waited..."

Ismurii quickly says, "Mad as in angry."

Ismurii clears her throat.

You smile.

You say, "I had every intention of using the potion."

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "But, I also understand that things do come up."

Ismurii asks, "Potion?"

You grin.

You say, "The love potion."

Ismurii says, "Oh, right."

Ismurii removes a black glass vial painted with nacreous nightshade from in her taupe satchel.

Ismurii asks, "This one?"

You chortle.

You nod to Ismurii.

Ismurii asks, "How long do these last?"

You say, "I've never seen one before you showed it to me."

Ismurii says, "I haven't taken it out of my satchel for a long long time."

Ismurii says, "Hmm."

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to you, Ismurii asks, "You took it?"

Ismurii glances at a black glass vial painted with nacreous nightshade in her hand.

Ismurii says, "My memory isn't that bad."

Ismurii says, "I assure you."

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "But..."

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "Why would we toy with this if we aren't sure of its full effects or how long it lasts."

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "It could get us in trouble, you know."

Speaking to Ismurii, you say, "It doesnt even guarantee to make us do the things that we'd want."

Ismurii raises an eyebrow.

Ismurii curiously asks, "What do we want?"

You pull Ismurii closer to you.

Ismurii grins slowly.

You smile.

You think to yourself, "Revenge will be so sweet."

Speaking to Ismurii, you say, "I can only tel you what I want."

Ismurii says, "Then tell me."

You gaze fondly at Ismurii.

You give Ismurii a lingering kiss on the inside of the elbow.

Ismurii just closed a faded taupe satchel.

Ismurii bites her lip.

You ask, "You're playing with your satchel?"

You sigh.

Ismurii asks, "What?"

Speaking to Ismurii, you ask, "Am I doing something wrong?"

Ismurii says, "No I just noticed it was open."

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "I don't think you are."

You give Ismurii a lingering kiss on the neck.

You give Ismurii a lingering kiss on the ear.

Ismurii shivers.

You grin.

You quietly whisper to Ismurii, "Ismurii..."

You think to yourself, "Safety Morgannis....safety."

You say, "Lets be safe."

Ismurii blinks.

Ismurii asks, "What?"

Ismurii stands up.

You blink.

You stand back up.

Ismurii asks, "You believe those nasty rumors?"

You ask, "What rumors?"

You ask, "What rumors?"

Ismurii asks, "What's going on, Morgannis?"

You blink.

You say, "I thought....us."

Ismurii asks, "Us? What is us?"

You point at yourself.

You point at Ismurii.

Speaking confusedly to you, Ismurii asks, "What is this 'lets be safe' business?"

Ismurii frowns at you.

You say, "I was out foraging earlier."

You say, "And I pricked my fingers."

Speaking to you, Ismurii asks, "Am I diseased now?"

You look at Ismurii and shake your head.

You say, "I think I casted in time."

Ismurii buries her face in her hands.

Ismurii scrubs her hand through her long autumn brown hair in frustration.

The sense of peace and security begins to wane from the area.

Ismurii traces a sign while petitioning the spirits for cognition...

A sense of peace and calm resettles over the area. *Fuck!

Ismurii sighs.

You walk towards Ismurii.

You rub Ismurii tenderly.

You say, "Sorry."

Ismurii says, "I don't want to be treated how they treat me."

You say, "You wont with me."

Ismurii says, "I don't want people to believe the rumor that is going on about me."

You blink.

Ismurii says, "That's why I got so defensive."

You peer quizzically at Ismurii.

You ask, "Is there something I should know?"

Ismurii says, "None of it is true."

Ismurii says, "So you don't NEED to know of it, but I will tell you if you want to know."

Ismurii glances suspiciously around the area.

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

Ismurii fans herself.

Ismurii takes a deep breath.

Ismurii slowly empties her lungs.

You say, "If it will ease your mind I will listen."

You say, "If not...."

You give Ismurii a lingering kiss on the neck.

Ismurii quietly says, "They call me a harlet."

You blink.

You ask, "What does that mean?"

Ismurii says, "It is a woman who takes men as clients to the Inn and they have their way with her."

Ismurii frowns.

You frown.

You say, "I hope it is not true."

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "I told you it wasn't."

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "Why would I? I was married."

Ismurii says, "Even now, I don't."

You smile.

You say, "Good because I have no money."

You have no silver coins with you.
In the back of your mind you remember you owe a debt of 7744 silvers in the city of Solhaven.

Ismurii frowns.

You tap yourself on the chest.

You say, "I only have that."

Ismurii blinks at you.

Ismurii glances downward.

Ismurii sighs.

Ismurii says, "Sorry."

You gaze fondly at Ismurii.

You say, "The last thing you need to be is sorry..."

You give Ismurii a lingering kiss on the cheek.

Your jaw drops.

You say, "Deep down...."

You tap yourself on the chest.

Ismurii cocks her head.

You say, "That you felt the same."

Ismurii asks, "Back then, I did?"

You say, "Since the beginning you did."

You say, "I can see the future."

Ismurii begins to giggle, then bursts out in a silly laugh.

You say, "I was gifted with saramar runes."

You tap a bone-toggled woven seagrass basket that you are wearing.

Tucked away, in a separate compartment of their own at the bottom of the basket, is a collection of smooth rune-painted stones.

You rub your woven seagrass basket.

Speaking amusedly to you, Ismurii says, "Now that is just silly."

Slipping your hands into your woven seagrass basket, you pull forth three smooth stones. You slowly open your hand and arrange the runestones in the palm of your hand. After a moment's study, you tilt your hand to display an inverted harvest rune, an empty pot rune, and a seedling rune.
Roundtime: 10 sec.

A few moments later, you deposit the stones back into your basket.

Ismurii gazes with interest at you.

You say, "The harvest, pot, and seedling runes."

Ismurii anxiously asks, "What does it mean?"

You say, "We will have a bountiful life..."

You say, "There will be much heat in our lives."

You say, "And the seedling should speak for itself."

Ismurii blushes a nice shade of dark red.

Ismurii embarrassedly asks, "What?"

Ismurii gets a blank look on her face.

Ismurii says, "Wow."

You say, "42 perfect smooth stones."

Massive walls of pure white granite bear numerous scars from both recent and long past assaults. Towers stand sentinel to either side of an open modwir gate and raised portcullis, providing a suitable post for any guard. Four flaming sconces frame the imposing entrance, and an intricate gem-inlaid crest is mounted proudly above it. A narrow alcove near the northern tower reveals a granite staircase leading under the fortification.

The mountains rise up majestically to the south, silhouetted against the evening sky where the forest tries to carve life out of the barren rock. You feel very small, caught between these breathtaking summits and the seemingly infinite sea to the north. To the west, the terrain is a jumble of broken rock and steep inclines, making further travel in that direction impractical. You also see the Ismurii disk, a sturdy steel chest, an engraved modwir coffer, a sturdy brass strongbox, a weathered maoral strongbox, an iron-bound monir trunk and a weathered white granite fortress.
Also here: Ismurii
Obvious paths: east

Ismurii blinks.

You flail your arms about.

Ismurii joins your group.

You say, "I forgot something."

Babbling again, eh?

>go fort
[Daingneach Onoir, Entrance]
Massive walls of pure white granite bear numerous scars from both recent and long past assaults. Towers stand sentinel to either side of an open modwir gate and raised portcullis, providing a suitable post for any guard. Four flaming sconces frame the imposing entrance, and an intricate gem-inlaid crest is mounted proudly above it. A narrow alcove near the northern tower reveals a granite staircase leading under the fortification.
Obvious paths: out
Ismurii followed.

>go port
[Onoir, Court of Chivalry]
Moonlight filters through the branches of an ancient elm located in the center of this aesthetic courtyard, reflecting upon the surface of a waterfall fountain along the main cobblestone path. Carefully tended wildflowers, grasses, and pathways comprise the remaining area, accented by a solitary wooden bench. The soothing chirping of crickets and the occasional hooting of owls fill the air, a peaceful counterpoint to the stout granite towers equipped with ballistae in each corner of the courtyard. You also see some arched wooden double doors, a tranquil path and a raised portcullis.
Obvious paths: none
Ismurii followed.

Ismurii asks, "What?"

You say, "You."

You chortle.

You sit down.

Ismurii just nudged you.

Ismurii sits down.

You say, "No critters in sight."

Ismurii just opened a faded taupe satchel.

Ismurii says, "Told you."

You feel more refreshed.

Ismurii says, "You know, I really don't want to drink this..."

Ismurii glances at something in a faded taupe satchel.

You say, "Then dont."

You smile.

You ask, "Or do you want me to?"

You say, "I'll do it."

Speaking to you, Ismurii asks, "Do you want to?"

You nod.

Speaking to you, Ismurii asks, "Do you need to?"

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

You say, "Only thing I NEED is you."

Speaking to you, Ismurii asks, "Why do you want to?"

You feel more refreshed.

You say, "I like to try things."

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "It has a silly effect on people."

Ismurii says, "I've watched."

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "They become obsessed."

You say, "Then let my obsession be shown."

Ismurii says, "They embarass themselves really."

Ismurii says, "Its worked for the better, and its worked for the worse."

You smile.

Speaking to you, Ismurii asks, "But you want to know something?"

You nod to Ismurii.

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "I do like you, and you keep me curious and anxious."

You grin.

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "You gave me this strange comfort..."

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "I guess strange might be a poor choice of words..."

You nod to Ismurii.

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "I don't know, I guess, just...."

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "I have never been so shocked in my life."

You smile.

Speaking to you, Ismurii says, "And I can't get over it."

You feel more refreshed.

Ismurii says, "I talked with Karmiqua and Alafaya about you."

You smile.

Ismurii says, "And Sareyna a little."

Ismurii says, "And all my male friends weren't any help."

Ismurii waves her hand in a dismissive gesture.

Ismurii says, "I told them about the doll."

You grin.

Ismurii says, "All the girls said it was romantic."

Ismurii says, "All the boys said it was..."

Ismurii starts chortling.

Ismurii says, "Nevermind."

You gesture while calling upon the lesser spirits to aid you with the Spirit Strike spell...
Your spell is ready.
You gesture.
An invisible force guides you.

You stand back up.

You remove a well-balanced silver alloy waraxe from in your leather weapons harness.

* Ismurii drops dead at your feet!

The air calms down around Ismurii.
The deep blue glow leaves Ismurii.
Deep blue motes swirl away from Ismurii and fade.
The white light leaves Ismurii.
The very powerful look leaves Ismurii.
Ismurii seems a bit less imposing.

You say, "Vengeance is so sweet."

You cackle!

You walk towards Ismurii.

You kneel down.

You quietly whisper to Ismurii, "I hope it hurt...."

You stand back up.

....walk to TSC

[Town Square Central]
This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see a lighthearted luck spirit that is flying around, a large acorn, a large acorn, some stone benches with some stuff on it and an herbal remedy donation bin.
Also here: Felencia who is sitting, Jiles, Great Lord Kasanova, Keikoh, Lady Xelinia, Rhyaen, Grimbriar, Diablicoa who is sitting, Lassthani who is sitting, Lady Sareyna, Keiryo

You grin evilly.

You cackle!

I only saw one comment which negatively addressed the content of the log, unless you count mine, which one shouldn't. I simply dislike when someone repeatedly uses a verb to add emphasis on it, as that is a bit jarring and unnecessary. The most commonly used form of this is when people hug, kiss, or bounce against each other 2-5 times. But as you can see, laugh, cackle, etc is often used as well.

ANYWHO, the RP itself was just fine.

Yes and no. You have higher caliber roleplay in platinum on a more consistent level, but basically your world is a fake. I think of platinum as an alternate version of earth, just with 1% of the total populace, and all of them are trained actors performing on stage for each other's amusement. Like a Soap Opera of normal Gemstone, I guess.

The Ponzzz
05-02-2009, 08:10 AM
Well, I wouldn't say we have higher caliber roleplayers in Platinum, but if by more consistent, you mean about 99% of the time, then yes. I miss a lot of the Dae'Randir RP that I had back in 2005 with Prime. The Hagga storyline was a great bit as well. We have a lot of people that make you cringe in Platinum too. But, I dunno, more people are playing characters in Platinum, instead of playing a game.

Also... UR FAKE!!!

The characters don't mesh. The power level is ridiculously varied to the point of gravely reducing the logic of the world. Everybody's doing their own happy little monkey single player roleplay. You've got the occasional 'antagonist' but they aren't able to be dedicated enough to make it stick. Sandbox roleplay on that scale thrives best on politics but there's no real politics that can offer any reward at all.

Gamemasters could function as guiding hands, even in a world with the power that varied, but they don't because they generally default to hating your entitled asses. They often have built up resentment from coming from Prime... and there's a money aspect to it too.

Throw a few assholes like Jay in the mix and they (the staff) don't want to be there. Why entertain for 50 when you could for 500?

...and it loops back to single player GS, with people struggling for their Monty Haul type wins in a very limited field. You can be special but there's a grave disconnect at the heart of it. It could be so much more.

I mean... it has its advantages. You don't have to deal with a massive populace of idiots. Your hunting areas are clear. The barriers for being 'the best' at something are far lower. The best of the best loot is far more attainable. It's more a slick textual Diablo 2 than a sustained environment for roleplay though.

Yeah, it's a shame that the Dae is officially screwed since Turin can't make up his fucking mind whether or not he wants to stay. And nearly all the officers or high-end players in the group itself are tired of it or gone.

I see some of your points, and I know you've given Platinum several tries, so you have the experience (which this is most likely your reasons here).

The issue with an antagonist and level guilt are much of the same thing. They can't stick to it because people can't take it. We have so many that come new, roll up their favorite dark elf sorcerer build and aspect their level 3 character to dominate a level 89 character. Like, that's what they perceive they can get from Platinum. The harsh reality is, level IS power. And on the flip side, if Caden (capped sorc) runs around dominating the world, people get pissed at him because he is capped, of course he can kill a level 60 rogue.

I generally don't RP my level. Dhask remains DHask. But it has run into issues in the past that have made a few go on power trips thinking they have bested a level 100 character. It's a horribly slippery slope of bad ideas really.

I personally don't run into your issues. Platinum does become a single player game when you hunt. A lot of people lately seem to be doing the pairs thing, where just 2 of them stick together. If one isn't around, they don't hunt. This is one of the perks to me in Platinum. Not having a crowded hunting area. Dhask is only 50 in Prime for a reason. Competing for creatures sucks. I don't script-hunt or use third party software that over lays GS, so I am at a disadvantage when hunting with 6 others who are.

The GMs are hit or miss. CCF has shown its ugly head right now, and we've pretty much lost our GMs for the most part. But we hope that will be remedied soon.

But in the end, I enjoy it, and that's really what counts for me. Roleplay is steady, not in spurts like I felt it was in Prime. And this, ladies and gentlement, is how you derail a thread.

I sort of agree with you Conan. I did try Plat for a while. I really didn't enjoy it much. Way too quiet, especially for off-peak players like myself. Additionally you'd never know if you're talking to Jay or not.

Prime is where it's at. But the level of RP fluctuates far too much. At one moment people could be going around singing lyrics from a popular song, and in the next room cyber bjing a GM. It's far too irregular.

What was most irritating about Prime RP (involving GMs) was how certain people would appear from the wood-work the moment anything remotely GM based began. It is so off-putting and half the time so fucking OOC.

And beyond that what is the point? Mechanically the game is all about watching numbers slowly grow. At least in games like WoW the content is expanded a lot. Look at the development it has seen over it's lifetime. Compare that amount of time to GS. Nothing much has changed has it?

So what is left in Prime or GS for that matter? Uniqueness. People are desperate to be unique, to be recognised, to be famous. Unfortunately it is such a mediocre environment now that the only people who get remembered anymore are idiots or scammers. It's really a big shame.

All-in-all.. He did a shit job for a group of murders for hire. Running it as a "grey" way of life that help defend towns for free is something incredibly stupid. But that's how I see things and just not my opinion on how I think a bunch of paid homicidal people should be.

Same with the story line they ran last year. Made us seem like a bunch of pussy-whipped monk-like morons. I was totally unimpressed and felt like I had wasted a week of game play and life because I tried to make something of the damn thing in hopes it would turn out better. What did we all get out of it?
