I joined a kickball league! Haha, when was the last time you played kickball? Middle school for me, I don't even remember all the rules, what I do remember, is you can tag someone out by pegging them with the ball!

Kick fucking ass, I can't wait, first "pickup/unofficial" game is next wednesday. (I'm kinda disappointed, I was invited by a coworker and they already had a team name, I'm sure I could have gotten some gold suggestions from you guys. One of the opposing teams names is "It's My Kick in a Box", another is "Rubber Balls & Liquor". We're "Money shot" ... decent, but not great).

1. What kind of ball is being used. (hopefully a vollyball consistency that makes for good solid throws)

2. Hopefully you're using 90 ft. basepaths so you can get some good pegging action in.

A buddy of mine got a bunch of my friends to join a kick ball league last summer and before. I havent done it yet but from what I hear its a ball. Drunken kickball.

Some people take it really serious though, which is funny too.

That's pretty cool. Makes me want to start up a "Doctor Doctor" league. At least that's what we called it. Dodge ball with one "doctor" on each team that could heal anyone who was hit. Had to protect the doctor at all costs. That game rocked in middle school.

And AMERICA FUCK YEAH! kickball league sounds like a shit fuck of fun. I haven't heard of anything like that around here but softball is pretty hard core in this area.

A few local bars have ping pong tables in them. It's funny how serious some people take that and it's also funny as hell to watch drunk people try to play it.

I played kickball in DC in the summer of '07. I might look into it again this summer.

But moreso, this reminds me of my favorite intramural sport EVER in college: Co-ed intertube water polo. An hour twice a week of flapping your arms around in an intertube, playing dodgeball with a goalie, and generally having a great time.

It started our sophomore year. We played all three years under the team name: The Floating Stones (pun on the Rolling Stones, but also because we had a pre-game "meeting" to ensure we were never sober). We won the championship our junior and senior years.

One of my friends was the only night guard at my college's swimming pool. So he had the keys to the building. Another friend was a huge Harry Potter fan (before the movies came out).

So he drew up rules for a quittage (i think that's what it's called) game in water. Basically, just water polo using noodles. The cool part was that they had REALLY long climbing ropes over the pool. At anytime you'd be allowed to climb out of the pool and rope swing off of the bleachers, like 20 feet in the air and back into the playing field. Awesome game. eventually we formed a league, and before we got caught, I won MVP of the league.

Some of those assholes still call me Larry Potter. I fucking hate it.

Heh, reminds me of elementary school. Playing it in the gym and the other team called one of my friends over and the two people that he was running for ended up cloths lining him and knocking the wind out of him. I think the school ended up banning it after that happened and this was back in the late '80s (wow im old). If that would have happened today the school would have probably been sued for millions.

What a fucking awesome game... we had our pickup game and it ruled. We were told going into it that typically games score in the 10-15 range. We played 7 innings and won 2-1 (I scored a run, no big deal). There were a ton of people, 100+ would be a conservative guess.

The bar afterwards was awesome too, they had beruit and flip cup, and the ratio was INSANE, because of the game having an "at least 4 girls on the field" rule it was nearly 50/50. Good times.
