For those that have had cathedral wedding's... in the long run do you feel it was worth what you paid for? Also, about how long does it take to plan these types of weddings?

i been the priest at 3 weddings now. so far they all went good and very well planned RP events throughout the event. im not sure on the costs of these but i think if your willing to front the bill for it its worth it. you get some alters and a RPA out of it too. not to mention nifty lil invitations and a wife to hold on to in game for a long time!

So you're pissed you didn't get to murder your wedding guests? Peachy.

I think the cathedral wedding was worth it BUT.. it takes a lot of planning and a long time. The GM's have to okay all your wedding alters first and that takes a few revisions. And then it goes to the next GM and then you can choose a wedding date usually for the next month I think we ordered the wedding in June and the actually wedding as the end of August.

whats a good wedding without being smited?

The elope option sounds much less complicated.. but Im liking the Cathedral style wedding more. Sounds more elaborate and more memorable. I can deal with the time frame with planning since my fiance and I aren't rushing it anyway...we dont know where to begin. But thanks for the advise thus far.

Are you going to extend invitations to PC posters? I have never been to a cathedral wedding. Don't make me crash it...

DeV

Basically since my character is a bit of a hermit with very few friends when the time comes whoever wants an invite can have one.
My fiance will have way more people there than me though, so either way. If you crash it, as long as its in good fun.

I'd never have one of those. A few hundred bucks to get a couple alterations, besides which --- IT'S NON REFUNDABLE. So here you got this wedding that takes months to plan, and then you and your fiancee break up, and then you have just taken it up the ass.

It would suck even harder if your city had a 40 minutes black out while you were in the middle of getting married.

P.S. I wanna come. :)

Heh. I never made it past the planning stages of my cathedral wedding.. which is still collecting dust on my account, but from what I have seen of others, I think they can be very memorable and well worth it, depending on what type of scenario you plan, and who is involved.

Cathedral weddings can be wonderful. Do I think its worth the 180-200 bucks no not at all. I like Dragonrealm's weddings better they offer a smaller wedding package for alot less. Not only that their catherdal weddings are ALOT better. My wedding was nice, cept for me screwing up during the ceremony because I was nervous as hell.

I'm sure it's not that you "weren't good enough," hun... you should talk it over with the person, and not just assume that's why.

No, he's right. That's why.

Heehee.

TEASING.

It came down to my laziness. TK writing the whole thing vs. me writing the whle thing for you. I chose the lazy route. Though I do still love you.

If I ever get married in game you can be the priest. I will even let you kill the groom just for the hell of it. No maiming of the bride though.

I have a friend who purchased a wedding ticket...

They planned it and split up..

He was able to hold the ticket for two years until he had a new fiancee.

My rogue and her fiance are finally buying their ticket but we were waiting until the new frostacres so we can take advantage of the new wedding system where you can now design your own place , not just pick from the ones offered... I also wanted the band scripts updated before we got married..

I have had my alterations designed for ages....

sighs hoping to be married soon... after a 2 1/2 year engagement....

my in game brother is also getting married and planning it now. As the best man I get an alter and dont know where to begin. So, currently im waiting on him to give me more info on it.... so I can try to design something decent.

can't wait to buy my wedding ticket though, i think its gonna be pretty neat. its also weird when your marrying in game your real life girlfriend.

See I think that would be cool if you were doing it with your rl significan other.

Aside from that, I couldn't imagine spending 200 bucks on a wedding if its someone within the game.

I'll probably get around to it if I'm ever around at the same time as my rogue's SO. Probably eBay some coins or something to pay for it :)

On a side note, do you generally buy gifts for characters getting married?

Was it an orgy? Taking turns on the bride and the groom?

Galleazzo
03-05-2004, 12:24 PM
Turned into an orgy alright. Bride said she had to get it once for everyone of Ivas's tentacles, swear to god. Whispered to me that she was using a vibrator while she typed, and I got NO idea how long that party lasted.

That's more info than you wanted, huh?
