So I've been off work for the last four days, and have just been painting and drawing till I start my new job. I was wondering if anyone had an overhead view (not just a eastwestnorthsouth map) of any of the towns.

0 I'm bored and was thinking of making a 4'x6' painting using a projector, light box, Google Sketch Up to project the frame work, and tons of charcoal, paint, crayons and markers.

Just need an accepted layout of any town. I'll have to run a script to figure out how many stories buildings are, descriptions, and room numbers, I just need a layout. I'll make a hi-res version once it's done.

I once wanted to recreate wehnimers landing using little building miniatures and stuff...but then the thought of how much effort would be required pushed it from my mind..

Maybe you're not as anxious and insane as me then. Drawing takes my mind off of everything. The last three pictures I've framed and gave away took me more than a year each. The last two I've put on my walls have taken about the same time. I usually draw in black and white and force anyone who comes over to color in a small part, just to be random. But since GS has taken up almost half my life I can spend a year or so working in 3D and paint/etc. for something meaningful to put on my wall. I'm already started, I'll keep you all updated.

LMingrone, are you any good at making 3d models in computer programs? If you make building models I can replace the sphere meshes with your version of the rooms in that picture I sent you.

thanks for the help. This is going to take a while. I can do 3D models in programs like gimp, AutoCad, Sketchup, etc... I'm not a pro at it yet. I can do the framework pretty easily. Textures are not my strong suit though. Pretty much why I was just going to build the framework and draw in everything else by hand. That map gives me a good idea of spacing though. Now I just have to look at every building and get a good idea of how big they are. Depending on what you need as a file format and detail...yeah I can make most 3D maps.

I usually just use sketchup to get the basic framework, put it at a viewing angle I like, throw it up on the projector, and trace. Then do all the coloring and shading and all that good stuff.

I've started laying out a basic map and ratios of building sizes. Still A LOT more to do before I have anything solid though.

Oh, and that running to the bank video was dope.

Couple I'm working on right now. 1st ones just messing around, 2nd is for a friends school project. Both are only about an hour in the making, not anywhere close to finish yet.
