so anybody got some good stats for a half-elf i dont want to be super gimped in stats but would like decent stats by 40ish and nice stats by 70ish.

also anybody have a good training plan for a nice bard with good DS. when he gets to a good level he will be making me some money singing to gems and making orb gems for my cleric.

thanks for any help. ( wish the woman woulda let me get that 3rd account for that bard i wanted)

Read through the bard folder; there is already a ton of good advice.

i have read though it and got a decent idea but was looking for a more up to date info from people.

perhaps someone who did a build and wish they had changed a stat or two or something like that. any info is good info.

Don't tank WIS - Spirit TD is purposeful design weakness for bards.

Everything else has already been said before.

For the first 30 days:

1) max str, con, dex, agi, THW, CM, Dodge.
2) get claid
3) pwn

After 30 days are up:

1) choose a path.
2) pwn.

im kinda torn between sword/board and polearm.

DS would be a major factor for me which is why i like the sword/board but then again hacking away for ever to kill something is kinda lame as well.

what would be the potential of sword/board over polearm or vice versa?

Same as it is for every melee class.

You'll have shitty bolt DS w/o a shield and lower DS in general but you'll be able to pwn faster and harder.

As soon as you can use a sonic lance - sing one up and pwn. Bards don't generate that much DS. If you have a spiritualist around then you can make use of 101 and 107 which add to bolt DS and 103 and 202 which give you 20 total generic DS.

will a polearm user have good DS with only being able to 1x dodge? or will i have to 2x dodge when i use the polearm?

I had no idea 101 and 107 added bolt ds.

Run the numbers; all the formulas are readily available to you.

If i make a polearming bard, can I get a glaes permablessed rapier to be my singing sword and be effective?

Why would you use a rapier as a polearming bard?

Or did I miss something?

Have a loresinging script on hand. Sing in guildspeak if it sucks.

1001 and 1002 are your best friends in combat.

If you train in polearms, a 1025 rapier will suck horribly. You'll want a polearm, since it takes your weapon skill into account.

Bottom line is that pure bards > all :D
