a silver-chased mithglin warhelm with curved mithril horns

3 pounds, heavily crit padded (permanent), covers the head and neck.

From the Revel of Anfelt 2006. Was 1.9m off the shelf. Has a scripted wear and remove:

>wear my warhelm
You adroitly don your mithglin warhelm as you prepare for battle, adjusting it for a sure fit.
>rem my warhelm
You carefully remove your mithglin warhelm and cradle it in the crook of your arm.

Has further "Anfelt scripts" that can possible be unlocked by merchants in the future. Scripts not yet unlocked include a working visor and bashing yourself over the head with an item.

Just curious, does this warhelm help protect against throat cut?

I'm not too sure. Maybe someone else will chime in. I've not yet hunted anything that does that maneuver. I'd offer to be a guinea pig to test but not even sure how we'd figure out if its working. Crit padding doesn't produce those activation messages like resistances do.

Pretty sure it protects the whole neck. Find someone with Garrote and try it out.

Thanks for the info folks. As to going rates, I didn't see any currently in playershops so I just priced it myself based on rarity of permanent HCP, and how long ago it was sold en masse. Off the shelf they were 1.9m

Pretty certain they were 950k off the shelf at Anfelt.

I thought they were 500k to 1m off the abandoned wreckage of the Jug at Ebon's Gate.

Not too sure if they were ever at Ebon's but this particular item was 1.9m off the shelf at Anfelt. You can double check on Nilandia's site. It was advertised as a good festival to get gear at and it was the first time I have seen HCP off the shelf since the days of yore. There was also a lot of armor and armor accessories with different resistances, etc.

they were 1.9 off the shelf at anfelt, but few were sold (I think most didn't know they were available), after the festival they went up to about 4m in value fairly quickly. I've sold probably 10 at that price, but not any for a long time (sold out long time ago)

Nothing protects against Throat Cut. It is specificially designed to bypass padding, armor, resistances, etc. I don't know if plate-class armor is immune to its effects, though.

I seem to remember reading about some kind of special aventail that would guard specifically against cutthroat or garrote... remember it being talked about as rather rare.

Cmans are designed to work around armor.

I can tell you I just bought a helm exactly like this for 4m not too long ago, and the person bidding against me had bid 3.8m so the price isn't far fetched by any stretch of the imagination.
