I don't know what led up this but I can tell you that he probably won't see it for a month since you didn't post it in the political folder.

Nothing led up to this, I just thought it had some funny pictures.
I considered making the title "Can you pick out Backlash?" because I think he considers himself a hipster (drinking by a dumpster picking up foreign chicks?), but sometimes I feel bad for him. So I made it Ashliana instead.

I say the picture captioned “WESTSIIIIIIDE!”
The others don't scream "I WANNA BE A GURL SOOO BAD!!" enough.
None of the pics are really gay enough.
So I vote none.
*Edit: Actually...

We should go LARPing in chainmail and plate in Queensbridge.

Haha. Aww. Don’t ever feel bad for me, Kellsy Wellsy.
You’ve seen how I dress in person and in my pics. The people in your link are attempting to look hip and seem to fail. But then we don’t really know them.
While presentation is half the impression anyone gives hipness is really a condition. No amount of mismatched ill-fitting clothing is ever going to cover up a non-hip person just like a tailored suit and tie will not cover up non-sophistication.
You seem to have a need to point the finger at other people. Thats fine. We all do. But you seem to have a need more than others here by putting their names in the titles of your threads. Why do you suppose that is?

I didn't mean that I pity you; I meant that I think I pick on you more than you deserve.
And it's probably because I'm an asshole swolen with hemmorroids or because I thought the title was funny and attention grabbing. Take your pick.

People behave differently depending on the clothes they wear in addition to the fact that people react to people differently depending on the clothes they wear.
It may be true that an extremely awkward person may not by "transformed to hip" simply by changing clothes; however, the right clothes can be the edge an otherwise awkward person needs to feel more confident while causing others to see them a little more favorably. Naturally, the same principles can work in reverse.
I've seen this in action often so don't trivialize the effect the right, or wrong clothes can have on both your attitude, and the attitude of others around you.

I cite two items, one for an against:
For: The thread with the mug shots of all the people wearing Obama shirts.
SO you're right there, clothing did determine action.
Against: SLC Punk - Michael. Khakis + Polo + Rage = "Punk" - AND - At the end of the movie Matthew Lillard shaves his head to be a lawyer but was still "punk"
That one goes against, clothing was opposite of action.
And we all know Hipsters are Punk of the new millennium.
Also, you have to remember that these people want that reaction from other people and that's why they dress that way. They weren't like, "I really like the way I look in these super tight woman's jeans and a pink cowgirl hat, my ass look so sexy"...they were like, "Imagine how people will look at me, and how my friends will appreciate my disdain for common day "American idiot".
Actual meaning:
"My life is so similar to everyone else's, I need to dress this way to tell them I'm not like them. Otherwise they wont look twice at me and I wont get any attention, not from mommy or daddy or anyone!"

Go into an office that typically dresses business, or business casual and watch the difference in behavior on "casual Friday".
The clothes do not "make" the man, but they do influence how you act and how others act towards you.

I do agree with you clove, but I think that's a bad example. People act differently on Fridays because it's Friday.

I do too. Which has me confused as to why he argued (agreed?) with my original point.

You seemed to think that clothes have no effect on a person's persona, which isn't true. If you feel comfortable/confident in your clothes you'll be more confident. He was saying that people act differently in 'casual friday' clothes, except that example doesn't isolate the variables.
