Singing sword --- a black ethereal pike - Hanging from the head of the pike are several colorful pennants, a lady's handkerchief, and a scrap of lace and satin, all trophies worn in battle and each vaguely insubstantial at its edges. The head of the pike forms and reforms into a razor-sharp tip as it dances around seeking its next victim.

Well, since I am/was one of Chaeye's Blades and a devout of Ronan...it makes sense. I have quite a few alterations that give the impression of a night sky. Stars on on black...I try to avoid straight black. I've only seen maybe four black alterations here in the sonics and two were my own.

edit: Okay there were six, but only three players. ~shrugs~ My guess is that it's due to the fact that it has to be made of a fluctuating substance, like fog/mist/shadows...things of an airy nature. Storm clouds, some fogs, shadows and such are all leaning toward dark over light. If I could changed mine, essentially if I stopped worshiping Ronan, I'd change mine over to sand based...dust devilish.

Wow, some of those look really nice. A question, though: for those that have the armor type included in the description, do you have to keep singing that one (regardless of whether you would anyway for mechanics reasons) to get the shmancy altered appearance, or does the noun change if you switch it to a different ASG?

Personally when I thought of sonic weaponry I imagined it as pure white energy. Not ragging on your own personal RP Drakefang, sorry if I was giving that impression.

Yeah, the leaves idea is very solid and well done. I was thinking about doing the sand a little like Gaara from Naruto, although I had been thinking along those lines well before I was even introduced to that anime. It's one of the few alterations where they really seem to let you go kinda nuts and do as you please. Most weapon alterations tend to be pretty redundant...no glowing, no shining, no doing a goddamned thing except being fancy metal.

The longsword's slender blade is woven from dark, ethereal strands of essence lent solid form. Crimson musical notes flow up and down the length of the blade, shimmering as they move.

yeah yeah.. another black one I know. But he has a very good reason for black...

I wasn't paying attention to the fact that i was in the sonic alters thread, i just kinda spaced out and thought i was in the regular CCF work done area....so you can imagine my surprise when I saw this alter was allowed :)
