1040 is an amazing spell with the proper training. It works on an entire group as well.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect yours. In the end, I laughed and had fun so I guess thats all that really matters. Cheers

1040 along with 606 are the spells I would do anything for.
Anything.

The only reason why 1040 worked was because the immobilization is set for 5 seconds on garrote. No shit it worked. Try getting out of a bind 150+ endroll bind. Then we'll evaluate the "AWESOMENESS!!!111" of 1040.

I can't fucking believe people think 1040 is even marginally good especially compared to 740.

like any spell, 1040 is awesome when it works. when it doesn't (which is, as has been pointed out, very rarely against bind spells, etc), you want to break your keyboard over your monitor in rage.

Heh I'd take 1040 over ... a travel spell.
Who travels anyway??

I bugged it. Even though you should be able to break the stun, it doesn't make sense that you are able to leave... if you stay, you keep getting garroted, so the wire is still around your neck.

I'll take an instant effect over something that requires any kind of pre-casting prep work like 740 any day.

I get what you're saying, however -

You shake off the immobilization that was restricting your movements!

- seems to imply he momentarily shook of the garrote for a few seconds before you could reapply it.

I dunno. What they'll probably say is that they don't give a fuck about CvC.

Fallen

Yep. He shook the stun, the Immobolization effect from the garrote, and was stood up from the spell. 1040 is OVERPOWERED!!!!!?!?! Nerf it before it joins the likes of Implosion and Scroll Infusion1!!!

It was a learning experience... perfect reason to learn cutthroat.

Fallen

Cutthroat > Garrote.

You can kill anyone you want with it (Feras dagger), or just shut them up for a little bit.

Actually, this gives me a good idea for Garrote. It should damage the target's vocal cords, atleast for a short while, so even the attempt blocks casting. I figure if you just got done almost being strangled to death, you would have a damn hard time talking.

Yeah, cutthroat is pretty rockin while garrote is dumb.
