View Full Version : Peeing on dead people...

Let me start off saying that, yes, peeing on him was a bit over the top. But, it was funny.
Anothi just arrived, dragging the body of Melivn with him.
Anothi touches Melivn.
>
Anothi meditates over Melivn.
Anothi takes some of Melivn's blood loss.
>sniff mel
He smells just like Melivn.
>look mel
You see Grand Lord Melivn Ta'Mori Faendryl the Demonmaster.
He appears to be a Dark Elf.
He is average height and appears to be as old as the hills. He has vivid steel-grey rimmed sea green eyes and pristine brunet skin. He has chest-length, deep raven blue-black hair that falls in a mass of thick waves tapered to rest at the small of his back. He has sharp pointed ears.
You can hardly recognize him covered in all that soot and ash!
He has a solid ebon deathstone stud in his right eyebrow, a slit-eyed pupil tattoo with a pale yellow tint on his wrist, and a gold-banded black glaes pipe clenched between his teeth.
He appears to be DEAD!
He has a mangled right leg.
He is holding a glistening lor runestaff in his right hand.
A thick layer of volcanic ash and soot covers a silver pentagram earring, a twilight grey fetish, a crystal amulet, a scaled eahnor Faendryl cape, a rune-stitched Faendryl scroll case, a brilliant eahnor rose, a pair of eahnor-edged cufflinks set with scarlet despanal pentacles, a translucent black spidersilk backpack clasped with a tiny jet stone demon, some Faendryl-crafted leathers embossed with a grey tower on a field of scarlet, an extravagant despanal-buttoned ivory-white shirt with a thin mithglin neckchain, a Faendryl signet ring, an Elven rune-etched signet ring, a wide black leather belt, a chipped glass vial, some crisp black pants, and a pair of well-fitted black leather boots clasped with silver buckles.
>'::mel fall in the lava?
You ask Melivn, "Fall in the lava?"
The ghostly voice of Melivn says, "No, but I can arrange for you to."
>
Willington smiles.
>'::mel that is not very nice
You say, "That is not very nice."
You say, "I was just making an inquiry. No need for you to get all testy."
The ghostly voice of Melivn says, "It wasnt intended to be nice."
The ghostly voice of Melivn says, "In fact it was intended to be testy."
>raise eye
You give your eyebrow a little workout.
>
Anothi says, "Slightly uncalled for.."
>
The ghostly voice of Melivn says, "Im a slightly uncalled for elf."
You say, "Well, let me return the gesture."
>smile as he walks over and pees on the corpse of Melivn
Durfin smiles as he walks over and pees on the corpse of Melivn
>
Anothi appears to be trying hard not to grin.
>
Speaking to Melivn, you say, "Take that."
>
Anothi clears his throat.
>
Anothi mutters, "Again, uncalled for.."
>
Raisezor raises a hand while murmuring a soft orison...
>
Anothi shakes his head.
>
Raisezor gestures at Melivn.
Raisezor suddenly looks very drained.
A bolt of soft white light streaks down from the sky bathing Melivn in it.
A brilliant glow forms around Melivn, lingers for a moment, and finally fades. Melivn awakens looking somewhat confused and seriously drained.
Melivn's body suddenly grows darker.
>
Anothi looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.
>
Anothi gestures while calling upon the lesser spirits for aid...
>
Anothi gestures at Melivn.
The glazed look leaves Melivn.
>
Anire coughs.
Anothi gestures while calling upon the lesser spirits for aid...
>
Anothi gestures at Raisezor.
The glazed look leaves Raisezor.
>
Melivn stands up.
>
Anire takes a few graceful steps backwards.
>
Anothi says, "Mind the urine pool..."
>
You chuckle.
Melivn traces a sign that contorts in the air while he forcefully incants a dark invocation...
Melivn gestures at you.
Nothing happens.
>
Melivn traces a sign that contorts in the air while he forcefully incants a dark invocation...
Melivn gestures at you.
An agitated dwarf bounds off muttering, "Melivn has committed endangering public safety!"
A void rips open in the area, directly above you!
Blood begins to gush from your nose and ears!
+30 Hits.
Stunned for 2 rounds!
Everything in the room seemed to stay in place. The void disappears without further incident.
Anire mumbles, "I just bought these boots..."
Melivn traces a sign that contorts in the air while he forcefully incants a dark invocation...
Melivn gestures at you.
A gravelly voice from the crowd echoes, "Endangering public safety! Endangering public safety! Someone call for the Dwarven deputy!"
A void rips open in the area, directly above you!
You scream in agony as your blood beings to boil!

Everything in the room seemed to stay in place. The void disappears without further incident.
Anothi traces a sign while petitioning the spirits for cognition...
Anothi gestures.
A sense of peace and calm settles over the area.

Be at peace my child, there is no need to fight here.
!S>
Anothi says, "Enough of that.."
!S>
A quartet of halfings dart in, closely followed by the Dwarven deputy.
With great ease, the Dwarven deputy grabs Melivn and shackles his wrists.
"Ah-ha! The boys at the Whining Elf said I might find something interesting here," says the Dwarven deputy.
With a keen eye, the Dwarven deputy glances over Melivn quickly. He says, "We'll not have you dying before sentence is carried out. Let's get you healed up, though there will of course be a slight charge for it." With that, a demure looking city official, evidently an empath, comes forward and heals all Melivn's maladies.
The Dwarven deputy then drags him off.

You chuckle to yourself.

No FI is NOT the all powerful spell of doom. CvC FI has been nerfed from what I have gathered.
Even if it hadn't been nerfed there is no style involved when imploding someone.
FI hunting stinks as well. Many Many times it will take me 3 to 6 casts to kill a creature even 8 trains lower than me. This is at cap with Spell Aimed Maxed.
could be that his stats were all dropped from the death/raise and that made it less powerful.
I've killed every square in one hit ive ever cast at that were also capped.
That aside it took me two shots to kill Miscast.
Sean of the Thread

I think I one hit FI Miscast before at an EG years ago? Might of been mistomeemer ... can't remember but they were both there and I was 20 levels below cap at the time.
Miscast is 1x CM if that means anything. It probably doesn't.

There are two variants of Focused Implosion, Player Cast & Creature Cast. Originally FI was more akin to the current creature casts form which is about 10x more effective then the current player cast version of the spell. Even open implosion is divided up into the pc and cc versions.(if memories serves) Either way the player version(s) of Implode are fail.

Yeah, player characters dodge implosion all the time. It's not like it's an auto-stun every time and a chance for the target to get sent to the town center in pieces.

At least they nerfed Scroll Infusion a little (which actually was the most overpowered sorc spell).

Its kinda sad that a utility spell is considered the most "over powered" spell sorcs have, even if only by some. More so when you look back and realize, "Hey, sorcs aren't supposed to be all that into utility." But illustrates my point in the less then glowing regard of the current incarnation of the class.
Edit: Fallen may or may not neglect to consider the open form of implosion in his fail statement. I however do not. Sure I've seen open 720 do some really wild stuff. But given the amount of set up I usually am/was required to push in order for it to preform, and the inherent randomness of its effects. Well all that tends not to lend its self well to giving any version of the spell all that grand of a review. Creature Cast open implode = nice, Player Cast open implode = not so much.

Open implosion in town = dead sorcerer. Those auto stuns looked pretty vicious on those first two casts, T & S. He only garnered 3 Environmental warrants for his trouble. Get over it, guys. That Dark elf that imploded you all those years ago doesn't mean it anymore. People need to realize the glaring difference between Player cast implosion and creature cast implosion. Otherwise the hate spewed towards the spell simply becomes laughable.

I don't really hate the spell, it's just annoying when sorcerors pretend the spell isn't the most overpowered spell in the game. In this instance, I am talking about spells cast AT a player character.
All you dopes ever say is something like "I don't want to talk about how the spell ignores your stats, skill training, and armor (for the most part). It doesn't matter because I imploded a critter and there was NO BOX!!!"
It's simply the most powerful single target spell in the game. This is going to rock your world view, but I am not disagreeing with you because of some Dark Elf bully in the days of yore.

wouldn't know my self, as I've never gotten a character higher then 60th level in 14 years of play. So for the capped crap, not a clue. I will attest to the crap reliability of single shot FI on everything else I've hunted in the 20-60th level ranges though. My best average for kills w/ FI is somewhere around 3-4 casts w/ 2x in aim and for a short while 2.2x w/ enhancives. while under hunting 5 to 10 levels. Hunting like level to +5 pushes my average up to 4 or 5 casts per.

With 1x spell aim I find it kinda meh for overhunting in my 80s but I use it to kill the occasional stray griffin or seer in OTF or I used to use 706 + 720 on aivren since they don't drop treasure anyway. But for underhunting even with my 1x spell aim I find it 1 shot about 80% of the time and if it doesn't 1 shot it's basically dead.

yeah, aivren are a great creature to use implode on, the 706/720 spell combo on them makes for fast hunts, can't do that on griffin, they're immune to 706, you have to use 713 and wait.

I think you exagerate a bit, Gnimble, or you were hunting with a sorcerer on a string of lucky shots.
After about a month in Teras, I'd estimate that one-shotting a GWE with 720 happens maybe half the time, and I'm being generous. One-shotting a plain old water elemental, yea that definitely happens more often - probably 4 of 5.
Even webbed, it usually takes two or three shots to kill a war griffin. I was just doing that this morning.
Yes, doubled in aim.
And, 720 does take certain training into account. I don't recall specifically what, but I want to say PF and dodging for sure. People train those things to survive the vaesps in the rift, from what I've read. It absolutely takes level into account, as well as status of the target (ie prone, stunned, etc).
Having said that. 720 fails in CvC, almost every time.
And I award no style points.
What he should have done:
One leg off.
One arm off.
Other leg off.
Other arm off.
Then pissed on your still breathing torso.
THEN and only then, perhaps implode.
I would have gone with evil eye, probably.
And he should have had a demon there - no excuse on Teras not to summon immediately - to stop the sanct. Oh, how I hate sancts.

Unless some other company white horses Simu and fixes the laundry list of issues. Any ways guess you won't have to worry about me bantering for 711 to be nixed any more on the officials ;) (not that you would of any ways, with my full out abandonment of Gemstone) Still, its always a bit sad to see a good player go.

Exactly. That's why they haven't nerfed implosion I assume, because it's "working as intended" on critters, which is the only concern since it isn't a CvC game.
My only point in the entire thread was relating to a FI's effect on player characters. I thought Fallen's comments on page 5 were funny, generally mocking implosion and people that mention it's overpowered in CvC, when the initial attack gave the warrior rank 3 head wounds and stunned him for 2 rounds. The warrior was dead if he hadn't gotten saved by a sanct cast by a 3rd party, and Fallen saw it as an example of how weak implosion is...

It's far from broken; it's just not perfect, like almost every other near-volunteer based game.
FFS, let's not get into wild hyperbole here.
Defend it if you wish, I'm not here to debate. Simply stated a point of fact/view from one persons observation of the same object. You say its not, ok, to you its not. I say its a broken game, and to me its a broken game. Next?

I can't remember if it was rank 2 or not, but it was definitely not a rank 3.

It is really bad isn't it. I might take it off. lol
It is quite creepy, actually. I noticed it the other night and I couldn't stop staring at it even though it was creeping me out, heh.

And the guy would have had a total of 5 warrants on his head. It is just silly to think it is this wonderful spell of Win Gemstone. 2 Environmental warnings for wiffing, 1 more for the stun, then assuming he killed Durfin on the next cast, 1 more environmental warning, and a murder charge. But yeah, terribly unbalanced in CvC.
Durfin should have been dead from that sorcerer anyway. He should have just cast 717 at him and been done with it.

You are right, the environmental warnings make the CvC imbalance completely irrelevant and no one should ever mention it. I was so biased because dark elfs bullied me years ago that I was completely unable to see reason.
I'm not saying the sorceror profession doesn't need any work, I'm just saying that when you complain about it's effectiveness in CvC you sound retarded.

He should have gotten a Radical Animate to provide the killing blow. No need to soil your hands with the death itself. Let stumpy get crushed by an animate :)
I hope that Sorc isn't capped. That's a fucking terrible showing otherwise.
Melivn is capped, but not the original owner, so it shouldn't be surprising the loser who bought him doesn't know how to properly pick apart a warrior.

So.. to quickly give the outline of the debate:
1) Multiple people: Implosion is OP
2) Sorcs: No it's not
3) MP: Yes it is, look at the hits
4) S: It isn't against critters though!
5) MP: But CvC it is OP
6) S: But look at all the charges he got and would have gotten! It needs to be fixed!
7) MP: It's clearly OP
8) S: STFU, who cares!!

Who needs to kill em? Personally I would of used the act command and had the animate do unspeakable things to them. Something about giving out free lap dances from an Animated Rotting Corps just makes me snicker.

Excellent point.
Death in game = no big deal.
Anyone can type "kill [player]" when they get annoyed. We have all seen that stuff. Now "Durfin walks over to [player]'s corpse, squats, grunts and gives him a Terasian Steamer," takes a little more effort and is much more entertaining.

1) It was a level 2 head wound
2) If I didn't sanct, yes he would of died
3) He should of used DC instead of implode
4) He should of had a demon to stop the sanct
5) I sancted yes, because I didn't feel like healing a completely battered body with level 3 wounds everywhere
6) Durfin is considered to be Anothi's friend. He's not gonna let a friend die right in front of him.

3) He should of used DC instead of implode

DC does screw me on a regular basis, more often than not one-shot'ing me. Spellburst mechanics force me to train in HP & SMC, and as a result I have an assload of mana.
edit: Granted, Melivn does not know me and would not have known that. Also, most squares do not train in HP or mana control, so yes, DC in general does less damage to them.
Rheisia had it right, almost, she forgot curse. Always curse first to give them more annoyance.
My preferable way to dispatch someone is to remove their limbs, curse them, then have an animate pick up their limbs and beat them to death.

The people think a spell where it took 3 casts to get a 3 round stun *like-level* garnering 3 fines in town is the best CvC spell of all time. I can't argue with that kind of logic. So yes, I repeat, "who the fuck cares?"
