So, I live in a state that recently passed medical marijuana laws..
I wonder if Medical Marijuana is effective in treating ADHD, and if so what are the chances a medical defense could be brought to court to include that in the list of "treated conditions"?

So... what state? It'd depend on state law but I doubt that without some sort of pre-existing license that you'd have a chance.

I wouldn't think that it would help overall and would rather just treat the "hyper" part of the disorder. As far as the attention part, I think marijuana would actually make that worse.
I would think marijuana would be more useful for anxiety and panic disorders, or other disorders that have prevalent anxiety/panic symptoms.
And I'm guessing you really need to have a license to own in any case, meaning you go through a therapist and doctors who feel it's the best option, and are monitored while on it like any other prescribed drug.
If you want some just tell a doctor you are having migraines and only MJ helps.

I actually get away with something very much like that. Well, used to.

On the Upper Penninsula of Michigan it is. Think of all the guns and rednecks they have up there.

Depression is probably the best all around excuse for the pothead.
Pothead: I'm sad and unmotivated
Doctor: Maybe your depressed, here is some weed
Pothead: Werd?
Doctor: yup, why don't you go ahead and take 6 months off work paid medical leave and enjoy the pot and we will see how you feel then.
Pothead: Fuckin awesome!

Even Oregon is pretty strict about it. Sorry.
The official ballot title given by the Oregon Secretary of State for the 1998 campaign was "Allows Medical Use of Marijuana Within Limits; Establishes Permit System". The measure removed state criminal penalties for patients with "debilitating medical conditions" whose doctor verifies the condition and that medical marijuana may help it. Some qualifying conditions include: cachexia; cancer; chronic pain; epilepsy and other disorders characterized by seizures; glaucoma; HIV or AIDS; multiple sclerosis and other disorders characterized by muscle spasticity; and nausea.

Move to MA. We decriminalized it, so if you get caught you get slapped with a straight fine (I think like 100 dollars) and that's it.

If someone's diagnosed with a terminal illness, they should let them have whatever kind of drugs they want. If shooting smack all day helps them deal with the fact that they're sitting around waiting to die from cancer or AIDS or something, let them.
One friend who used to come to the bar I worked in found out he had terminal cancer out of nowhere.
The Dr's gave him opiates and a bottle of something to sip from which was like another form of Morphine. For the last 4 or so months he still struggled to come in for our company and free Cola.
I'm glad he was given so much to take to make him comfortable. So I agree with Methais.
Oh one factor I think mattered is he was in his late 60's.
Maybe they wouldn't have given him anything at all if he were say my age or below. I don't know why I suspect that but I do.

Yeah, Ohio has an "under 100 grams in one container" misdemeanor, and has for years now.
You can thank the late John Hartman of North Ohio NORML (and later the Ohio Cannabis Society) for his tireless work of testifying for all the state committees. He also caused a national news story when he went to court and forced the Cleveland RTA (buses, rapids, etc.) to accept his advertising. It was a simple sign with a leaf and the slogan "What if it was illegal to grow a rose?", as well as contact information for the NORML branch. Good guy.
Pipes and other paraphernalia are another matter in Ohio. I have seen people get anywhere from a warning to a fine to 2 years in prison.
State laws vary:
